Are you a strategic leader with a passion for operational excellence and risk management? Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director for our Group Investigations Operations. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape and lead our Risk & Policy and eDiscovery teams, ensuring the highest standards of governance, efficiency, and innovation.
As the Executive Director, Group Investigations Operations, you will oversee the day-to-day and strategic management of our Risk & Policy and eDiscovery teams. You will play a key role in optimizing processes, systems, and resources to support timely, high-quality investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Shape and deliver the operational strategy for the Risk & Policy and eDiscovery teams, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of Group Internal Audit Investigations (GIAI) and the Bank.
- Process Governance: Define and maintain GI’s process universe, drive continuous improvement, and embed innovation and best practices into the GI operating model.
- Risk Management: Maintain and enhance the eDDA risk & control framework, conduct control testing, and design proactive control points across the eDDA lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across GIA, CFCR, HR, and TTO, ensuring joined-up delivery and effective communication of GI matters.
- People & Talent: Provide training and awareness on governance responsibilities, foster a culture of ownership and accountability, and manage third-party vendor arrangements.
- Assist in managing the Bank’s Speaking Up programme to mitigate financial, reputational, and regulatory risks.
- Continuously improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, exploring opportunities for automation.
- Manage the GI case management system, including user access and system issue resolution.
- Reinforce a strong risk and control culture, minimizing operational loss and audit failures.
- Provide timely advice on Group Investigation and eDDA’s risk approach and maintain effective relationships with business and functional stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in operational risk and control design.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Knowledge of data risk management, including privacy, records, and data quality.
- Experience with process mapping, SOP design, and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of eDiscovery concepts and technology utilization.
