Job Summary

This role is responsible for growing and managing the Sovereign, Supranational & Agency (SSA) Eurobond trading franchise, with a primary focus on European markets. The individual will lead market-making and trading activities across primary and secondary SSA bonds, develop trading strategies, manage client order flow, and work closely with Sales, Relationship Managers, and other stakeholders to deepen client relationships and identify new business opportunities. The role carries responsibility for achieving revenue targets, enhancing the bank's market presence through competitive pricing, and driving process automation and RWA optimisation initiatives.

The successful candidate will maintain a strong focus on risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and conduct standards, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations. They will collaborate extensively with global trading, sales, research, structuring, risk, and support teams while contributing to continuous process improvement and promoting effective financial markets and fair client outcomes.

Strategy
•    Grow the Sovereign, Supranational & Agency Eurobonds franchise mainly in Europe. 
•    Effectively market make and trade in SSA bonds, both primary and secondary. 
•    Manage the implementation of trading strategies and the servicing of customer order flow
•    Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role
•    Proactively engage in process improvements, eg: the automation of product offering to Clients
•    Drive RWA optimisation to improve the overall FM product RoRWA

Business
•    Achieving assigned full year budget as per annual P3 document 
•    To increase SCB’s visibility through competitive pricing in bonds for our clients globally
•    To deepen existing client relationships through regular conversations on colour and trade ideas
•    To work with and Sales/RM to identify new prospects and client opportunities

Skills and Experience

•    Strong experience trading Sovereign, Supranational & Agency (SSA) bonds.
•    Proven track record of market making, risk-taking, and executing trading strategies.
•    Demonstrated ability to grow a trading franchise, generate revenue, and deliver against annual budget and profitability targets.
•    Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Relationship Managers, Research, Structuring, and Risk teams.
•    Solid understanding of market risk, regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and compliance standards within a global banking environment.
•    Knowledge of balance sheet optimisation and capital efficiency initiatives, including RWA optimisation and return enhancement strategies
