Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Markets Technical Analyst to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank. In this role, you will provide essential technical support to the Financial Markets Dealing Room, ensuring seamless operations across critical applications and infrastructure. From troubleshooting trader voice systems to managing desktop computing environments, market data platforms, and business continuity plans, you will play a key role in maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime for our front-office teams.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to implement technical solutions, resolve system issues, and support business operations in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide immediate assistance for trading-related hardware and software issues to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Manage and maintain trader voice systems, telecom infrastructure, market data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon), and transactional systems.
  • Support and troubleshoot desktop environments, mobile device management, and LAN infrastructure.
  • Ensure continuous readiness of Financial Markets Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and backup trading sites.

Risk & Compliance

  • Enforce global IT standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage risk controls, regulatory audit preparedness, and ensure adherence to IT security protocols.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of technical incidents, system configurations, and procedures.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with traders, IT teams, and external vendors to implement solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage service requests, change controls, and incident reports via ServiceNow and other ITSM tools.
  • Monitor vendor performance and maintain service quality standards.

Skills and Qualifications

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in technical support for front-office trading environments (1st / 2nd line support).
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets, trading platforms, and market data applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Windows, M365, Active Directory, and basic scripting (Python, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of IT security policies, risk controls, and service management.
  • Flexible working hours, including shift work to support global trading operations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in IT support, operations, or project implementation in a wholesale banking or trading environment.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, or relevant technical qualifications are a plus.
  • Experience with trader voice systems (IPC Unigy, Voice Recording Systems, SIP, TDM, Private Wire).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and vendor management best practices.
