We’re looking for a strategic and solutions-driven Business Manager to support our Financial Markets (FM) business in Europe. In this pivotal role based in the UK Dealing Room, you’ll help deliver local strategy, improve operational efficiency, manage risk, and ensure seamless execution of business initiatives. The role also supports change management, including regulatory implementation. If you're a connector, a critical thinker, and someone who thrives in dynamic environments—this could be your next big move.
Key Responsibilities
Business
- Execute the global Markets strategy locally.
- Stay updated on local regulations to assess impact and manage business changes.
- Support dealing room management: capacity, continuity, access, SLAs, licensing.
- Promote cost discipline and seek cost reduction.
Processes
- Connect global and local, sharing best practices.
- Seek process simplification and re-engineering to improve efficiency.
Risk Management
- Manage local non-financial risks with suitable controls;
- Ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee 2nd line reviews, audits, and inspections;
Supervision
- Help Markets Head supervise Markets, Treasury Markets, and Wealth Management sales staff.
- Ensure staff follow internal and external procedures.
Governance
- Assist Market head with risk and supervision committees.
- Monitor, report, and escalate risks to local committees as needed
- Lead and build a high performing in-country Markets COO team.
Skills and Qualifications
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Financial Markets products and infrastructure
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Confident communicator with problem-solving mindset
- Proven ability to manage projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in high-paced environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business, or a related field
- 8+ years’ experience in a Financial Markets, Middle office, Operations, or Risk/Control environment
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent in English
