JOB SUMMARY

This is a Product Management Lead role for Prime Services.
The jobholder is responsible for 
(i)    providing a competitive product suite that will retain and grow the existing book of business, 
(ii)    developing new products and services to respond to market changes and generate new revenue streams, and 
(iii)    be skilled with a strong expertise on Cash & Collateral Management processes.

The jobholder should collaborate with Sales, IT, Compliance, and Operations teams to develop and enhance solutions that meet client needs, drive revenue and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

In summary, the jobholder:

•    Dynamically manages the entire suite of products related to Prime Services, including FXPB, IRS Intermediation, ETD & OTC clearing, Cash and Collateral Management 
•    Leads oversight of cash management processes and services with advice on interest rates spreads
•    Assesses Prime Services current operational support model and helps lead the design and implementation of the operating model for the full set of products
•    Regularly reviews the product suite under their control to ensure its competitiveness and viability.  Products must be proposed for closure where they do not satisfy these requirements,
•    Ensures risk framework in support of Prime Services products are satisfactory,
•    Facilitates External and internal discussions 
•    Supports the Global Head of Prime with ad-hoc initiatives for Prime and related businesses
•    Provides insightful analysis of industry developments, market changes and competitor offerings to identify threats and opportunities, assesses the impact on clients, technology and offer appropriate and innovative product solutions
•    Participates in regulatory panels, committees, and working groups to ensure the SCB perspective is heard and SCB is seen as an influential party in the global industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
•    Define and drive the Prime product strategy, ensuring alignment with SCB CIB broader business objectives.
•    Develop and manage the product roadmap for Intermediation, Clearing Collateral management services, identifying opportunities to improve the product suite enhance customer experience and drive profitability 
•    Prioritise and manage sub-products features, such as Collateral & Cash Management, and enhancements based on customer feedback, market trends, business priorities and SCB overall growth strategy. 
•    Help to define operational services and related technology to support the Prime business

Business
•    Work with the Head of Prime Services to provide internal and external leadership in the development of the intermediation, clearing, cash and collateral managements business for Clients. 
•    Manage relationships with functions such as Risk, Credit, Compliance, Legal, Finance as they impact the evolution of the product suite.
•    Collaborates with Technology to implement a scalable, automated, and commercially viable operating model for the business, capable of adaptation to satisfy changing business and regulatory requirements,
•    Achieves financial targets for the cash & collateral management.
•    Periodically reviews products with stakeholders, to ensure profitability requirements and expectations continue to be met.
•    Supports financial and management accounting oversight and prioritisation of investment spend.

Processes
•    Drive standards of performance and output across all Prime products, including cash and collateral management related activity. 
•    Oversee all processes & systems including clearing networks and risk management tools ensuring that they meet performance, security and regulatory standards
•    Ensure the smooth operation of clearing functions and post-trades processes.
•    Reviews Prime products to ensure profitability requirements and expectations continue to be met.
•    Drives consistent standards of performance and output across all Prime Services locations.
•    Manages senior-level contact with regulators and infrastructures. Communicates developments to broader Markets teams where applicable.

People & Talent 
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
•    Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people 
•    Employ, engage and retain high quality people, ensuring that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
•    Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans and succession planning for critical roles
•    Work closely with the Head of Prime Services to:
•    Drive talent development and growth

•    Encourage staff to ‘speak up’ in the event of any realised or perceived breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues

Risk Management
•    Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and risk teams to maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure product offerings align with evolving standards
•    Collaborates with Prime IBR and Client Solutions in identifying and managing day-to-day margin / traded risks. 
•    Implement and monitor controls to mitigate operational, financial, and non financial, including regulatory, risks related to Prime Services
•    Also, maintains an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual and team plays in managing them
•    Oversees consistent treatment and management of product risks throughout Prime Services products

Governance 
•    Work closely with local heads of Compliance, Ops, Legal, Risk, Credit, Technology and other relevant parties in the course of establishing a detailed business plan. 
•    Maintains awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. 
•    Delivers ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; willingness to work with regulators in an open and cooperative manne

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders
 
•    Drive internal and external communication regarding product updates, new features and enhancements 
•    Internal: serve as the liaison between Sales, Operations, Tech, Legal and Compliance teams
•    Manages the process of gaining necessary product approvals from the above functions,
•    Manage and coordinate with external stakeholders, such as clearing firms, exchanges, and Technology providers, to ensure service delivery and resolve product-related issues

Other Responsibilities
•    Embeds Here for good and Group’s brand and values in P&F team,
•    Performs other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The jobholder will have 
•    Sognificant experience in product management with a focus on Financial Markets, derivatives trading and clearing, collateral and cash management and related financial products.
•    A strong knowledge of financial markets, particularly Cash instruments and Derivatives.
•    Experience with clearing systems and risk management infrastructure
•    Understanding of regulatory requirements such as Dodd-Frank, Emir and MIFID II
•    Strong knowledge of clearinghouse, operations and margining methodologies
•    Experience with risk systems and post-trade lifecycle tools
•    Ability to develop product business cases, conduct market analysis and present strategic recommendations to senior management 
•    ICAEW, CIFMA or comparable accountancy qualification
•    Treasury management experience
