Job Description

As a Precious Metals Specialist at Standard Chartered Bank, you will coordinate and manage bullion shipments, ensuring seamless trading operations across key financial hubs like London and Zurich. You'll be the vital link between the Trading desk and precious metals operations, managing liquid metal balances and driving efficiency in a highly specialized and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Coordinate bullion shipments and monitor unallocated and allocated precious metals balances, ensuring accurate communication with the Trading desk.
  • Strategic Implementation: Support the execution of the Business Unit’s target operating model, identifying process efficiencies and enhancing client service and risk management.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain active dialogue with Front Office and clients to enhance risk management, client understanding, and the profile of the Precious Metals function.
  • Risk & Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risks, and maintaining strict adherence to internal and external governance standards.

  • Bullion Banking: Deep knowledge of bullion banking and precious metals operations.
  • Regulatory Acumen: Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and risk management.
  • Client Relations: Ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Process Optimization: Keen eye for identifying and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of bullion banking, precious metals clearing, physical operations, and logistics.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within precious metals or related financial services.
