Job Summary

This role will assist the Group Media Relations team in executing media relations strategies to protect and promote the reputation of the Bank and tell our story to a range of external audiences. The role will provide exposure to a number of global markets and a range of media relations activities at a Group level, including the management of media enquiries and briefing materials, monitoring and reporting of media coverage, drafting news summaries and coordinating media training for senior leaders. The role will suit someone who is interested and enthusiastic about progressing a career in media relations and corporate communications.  

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Communications 
•    Assist in developing and implementing group media relations plans and strategies to promote the Bank’s strategy, key initiatives, products, and services. 
•    Assist in and manage where necessary the development of media relations materials such as briefing notes, key messages, Q&A, news summaries. 
•    Support the team in managing media inquiries including tracking all media engagement.  
•    Monitor and help to manage the analysis of media coverage of the bank and its competitors for reporting purposes and to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. 
•    Support the delivery of integrated communications campaigns aligned to the Bank’s key media partnerships. 
•    Provide ad hoc support for crisis communications and related corporate affairs projects where necessary.

•    Assist in managing the Bank's media relations processes and keeping necessary logs and trackers up to date with accurate and relevant information. 
•    Assist in managing media engagement schedules, coordinating with colleagues in other geographical markets to track activity. 
•    Arrangement of media training requirements and management of the Group media team’s media training tracker.  
•    Support the team in organising media events such as interviews and roundtables. 
•    Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure that the bank's messaging is consistent across all communication channels. 
•    Support the preparation of reports and briefings to senior management and other stakeholders on media relations activity, issues, trends. 
•    Manage vendor relationship processes including governance requirements, invoicing, budget tracking. 

Qualifications

•    3+ years experience in corporate communications, PR, journalism, or related field.
•    Excellent research and analytical skills, with ability to synthesise complex information into clear and concise recommendations. 
•    Knowledge of the financial services industry and experience working in a bank or financial institution would be an advantage. 
•    Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations

•    Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
•    Highly motivated and enthusiastic. 
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
•    Strong planning, project management and coordination skills.
•    Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships
