Job Summary
Group Internal Audit (GIA) has embarked upon a major transformation programme that seeks to innovate, disrupt and fundamentally change the way we work. At the centre of this multi-year, multi-faceted ambition is the need for a strong and clear communications strategy, coupled with a singular and authentic voice; representing GIA leadership, ongoing projects, and day-to-day communications needs. We are looking for an experienced communications professional; someone that can tell a good story, understand their audience, and engage and delight our GIA community. This exciting and dynamic role will be at the centre of the function, working closely with senior leaders and SMEs across the function – the faint hearted need not apply!
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, drive and deliver a disruptive and thoughtful communications strategy in support of the GIA change and transformation agenda.
- Lead change communications across the transformation portfolio, working closely with the Product Owners, workstream leads, and GIA’s Communications Partner (CABM).
- Drive transformation communications and engagement strategy in support of the GIA target operating model.
- Support and advise GIA Management Team/Sponsors on change management communications strategy, as well as anticipating and addressing potential issues in communications planning and execution.
- Close alignment with GIA Management teams to align on communications roadmap, product and services pipeline, and future strategic considerations.
- Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities.
- Responsible for coordination of communications within GIA’s COO function. Ensuring alignment across all areas and wider function.
- Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.
- Work closely with GIA HR and COO to communicate organisational change initiatives as part of organisational design and transformation. Support and advise COO office on change management communications strategy.
- Acts as Communications SME for associated delivery teams, developing a position as trusted advisor and partner.
- Monitor transformation progress, report on milestones/successes and enable feedback to facilitate employee engagement and buy in.
- Implement measurable targets to assess the success of communications in building supporting the change programmes and to drive continuous improvement in our communications capabilities.
- Work with other GIA Business Communications Partner and Internal Communications, and where required the CA network, to ensure the communications programmes are created and executed in-step with ongoing BAU communications activities/strategy.
Qualifications
- Exceptional spoken and written English capabilities, with a passion for storytelling.
- A dynamic and resourceful self-starter who can hit the ground running and be a change agent.
- Must have internal communications experience , preferably with experience in change management programmes within Financial Services and Technology.
- Background in organisational behaviour and change management would be an advantage.
- Must demonstrate creativity and a passion for innovation in your work, with a thorough knowledge of the latest communications best practice and trends.
- Strong creative, project management and organisational skills.
- Experience using internal communications tools such as Intranet management, Poppulo and Video editing Software (Canva).
- Self-starter, independent, adaptable, proactive and resourceful.
- Strong team player, who can interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Able to manage and engage with senior stakeholders.
- Self-driven with ability to manage and prioritise multiple assignments.
- Growth mindset, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Understanding/experience in agile ways of working is a plus.
