Standard Chartered’s Financing and Securities Services (FSS) business provides a range of products and services to clients. The core offerings of FSS include Custody, clearing and fund services. It has a large and expanding network presence in emerging markets and is focused on digitization and product capability expansion, especially in the digit assets space.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    The role is part of the E & A Finance team which is responsible for all Product and Client Coverage performance management reporting for CIB in Europe including supporting the various Business Heads, Cluster CEO and coverage heads across our Global footprint to understand, manage and drive the complex business and operations within Europe. Our presence in Europe is key to connecting our footprint markets of Asia, Africa and the Middle East with the West through offering global support as the centre of excellence for product and segment teams.  
•    The role provides timely and accurate management information, including monthly performance tracking and variance analysis against budget and outlook, to guide business decisions. This position also drives value-added analysis on business drivers, segment performance, and product trends, while actively supporting budgeting, forecasting, and the identification of risks to business plans. In addition, the role holder will play a key role in the development and enhancement of financial market-related systems, ensuring accurate representation of funding costs, margins, and returns. Close collaboration is required with business teams on financial analysis, and investment activities to support growth initiatives, and will drive RWA and loan impairment performance management by partnering with CPM, FRM, and business teams to optimize capital efficiency.  

Business
•    Partner with key TB business stakeholders to support strategic priorities across the business, including portfolio growth, RWA and capital management to deliver improving returns, income growth in line with strategy, focussing on key product capabilities in the region and growing wallet share.  
•    Review product performance, providing forward looking insights, and highlighting opportunities and early warning signals.  
•    Deliver timely and accurate management information, including monthly financial performance reporting, variance analysis against budget and outlook and actionable insights to support business decision-making. 
•    Support business planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis, challenging business assumptions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
•    Support FP&A activities across the TB business in the cluster, including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, trend analysis and management presentations to support business decision-making. 
•    Understand and run processes for supplying information and analysis to senior management for Cluster and Product Heads.
•    Understand what the drivers and risk parameters are for the business.
•    Periodical reporting and analysis of business performance – across product and market segmentation for Origination, Franchise and Enhanced F lenses.  
•    Partner with business on strategic growth initiatives with a view to drive growth, whilst maintaining a high level of integrity and independence 
Processes
•    Providing timely and accurate performance summary reports to Group TB Finance team. This involves understanding and preparation of various analytical reports providing insight on business performance.

•    Ensure Business Finance is involved in all financial information and analysis provided.
•    Ensure that processes are in place to allow clear view of current and projected performance across all product areas and geographic and customer segmentations that generate TB revenues.
•    Work with TB Finance to ensure reporting to global business represents true picture of the TB Europe business.
•    Challenging current practices and procedures including identification and rectification of control weaknesses in them.
•    Developing offshore service centre personal to assist them to grow and ensure new reporting requirements are delivered. 
People and Talent 
•    Timely and proactive identification of MIS requirements.
•    Coordination with information process owners and shared services to ensure that these requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
•    Participation in system implementations, changes in reporting structures and new products, to ensure that all finance and business requirements are able to be met.
•    Strong team working and networking capability – success of role is reliant on ability to work with many different teams effectively.
•    Good communication with maturity and confidence to deal with senior business management and third parties.
Risk Management
•    Work with the business and other support teams to identify and correct inaccurate financial information caused by issues in static data, systems or processes in order to identify risks to the Group
•    Supporting and maintaining strong Financial Controls over financial and management group reporting.

Qualifications

Education
•    Qualified Accountant, with degree in finance or economics; MBA/CA or other post graduate qualifications
Training
•    Ten plus years of experience in financial planning and analysis gained in leading financial services companies 
•    Strong working knowledge of the CIB business
•    Excellent communication skills, written and presentation
•    Proven problem solver using quantitative techniques; strong analytical skills with ability to develop proof of concept frameworks and business cases
•    Ability to drive results
•    Team player and ability to work well within a matrix environment
•    Degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering; with professional accounting qualification also preferred
