Job Summary

This role could be based in UK and Singapore. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible for the overall commercial and risk management of it Third Parties. The SCM Global Technology Team is looking for a candidate with strong Leadership experience in Technology with the gravitas to engage and influence senior Stakeholders within Technology & Operations (T&O) and liaise and positively influence our relationships with our Strategic Suppliers. The role will also be overseeing the contract ownership for all SCM contracts and those contracts where there is need for SCM to be the contract owner, due to no natural owner within the Bank, e.g. Management Consultancy, Travel, Courier Services.

Key Responsibilities

•    Formulate and implement comprehensive supplier strategies for enterprise Technology Strategic Suppliers aligned with overall business goals, including demand management, and contract management.
•    Identify and evaluate potential new Enterprise Technology Strategic Suppliers.
•    Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key Technology Enterprise Strategic Suppliers and SCM owned contracts - acting as the primary point of contact for high-level communication and issue resolution.
•    Drive joint business planning sessions, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives with Technology Enterprise Strategic Suppliers and SCM owned contracts.
•    Foster a culture of partnership and mutual growth, identifying opportunities for innovation and value creation.

•    Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for Technology Enterprise Strategic Suppliers and SCM owned contracts, regularly reporting on their performance against agreed-upon metrics.
•    Lead root cause analysis for Technology Enterprise Strategic Supplier and SCM owned contracts performance issues and implement corrective actions.
•    Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities, value engineering initiatives, and supply chain efficiencies with the Technology Strategic Suppliers and SCM owned contracts.
•    Implement and manage Strategic Supplier scorecards and regular business reviews. 
•    Oversee any sustainability areas with the Strategic Supplier and report and track KPI’s
•    Monitor contract terms and obligations ensuring adherence by both parties.

•    Proactively identify and assess supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
•    Monitor geopolitical, economic, and industry trends that could impact the Strategic Supplier performance or availability.
•    Develop contingency plans for any critical components or services.
•    Accountable to ensure that all initiatives undertaken are executed in accordance with SCB’s third party risk management policies and guidelines. 
•    Data Quality of all meta data is at the highest level.
•    Support and execute necessary actions and deliverables to meet existing and new regulatory requirements that relate to the bank’s supplier base.

•    Act as a subject matter expert on Strategic Supplier capabilities and market dynamics.
•    Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving between technology/business teams and Strategic suppliers.
•    Matrix manages the Technology Supplier Managers to ensue alignment on process and adherence to Vendor Management Framework (this will become a direct reporting line 6-12 months post appointment)

 

Skills and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in a supply chain leadership role in technology or other services industries
  • Comprehensive and demonstrable knowledge and direct experience of procurement and associated processes in large complex multi-national organisations preferably in Finance
  • Strategic context with ability to work collaboratively within the Team and the Bank in formulating strategies involving sourcing and suppliers to deliver business value
  • Strategic thinking & decision making at functional, project, relationship and vendor level
  • Strong team leadership & development skills to lead a motivated team – with an ability to operate in complex multi-organisation, multi-country and multi-cultural environments
  • Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills, at all levels of the organisation and into supplier organisations
  • Self motivated and confident with the enthusiasm and determination to succeed
