JOB SUMMARY:

The role holder will support the Sustainability Reporting and Standards Director in the day-to-day process to facilitate the Group’s submissions for ESG reporting. This includes but is not limited to metrics tracked for internal and external reporting purposes, external questionnaires or surveys, and regulatory or voluntary disclosure submissions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Support the Director of Sustainability Reporting and Standards on strategic initiatives to improve process, infrastructure, and data for reporting that may feed into information required for submissions. Contribute updates on objectives and key performance indicators to be tracked at management committees. 
•    Contribute to the broader strategy for Sustainability Engagement and Disclosures and to key deliverables as required, including preparing the Bank for changes to mandatory disclosure regimes across the jurisdictions in which it operates.•    Stay informed on latest industry developments on ESG reporting, collaborate with other Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) teams related to the reporting impacts and share relevant information with internal stakeholders.
•    Support in drafting the Group’s Annual Report, including monitoring adherence to mandatory reporting standards and listing rules.
•    Help to coordinate submissions of key internal and external reporting across internal stakeholders. Track and monitor progress and report to senior stakeholders on a timely basis.
•    Support in drafting the Bank’s response for key internal and external reporting.
•    Guide and support country and regional teams with existing and emerging local sustainability reporting and review country-level sustainability reports.
•    Support on assurance to sections of responses drafted by internal partners to ensure accuracy and consistency.
•    Contribute to presentations and committee papers as required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD BRING:
•    Strong understanding of banking industry trends in sustainability 
•    Experience and/or in-depth knowledge of external frameworks (e.g. ISSB, CSRD, CDP, TCFD, TNFD, TPT) and ability to decompose into actionable business requirements
•    Good awareness of Standard Chartered’s net zero and transition commitments and how these impact stakeholder groups
•    Ability to identify, research and articulate key sustainability opportunities and risk
•    Effective communication and collaborative skills that contribute to positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
•    Good presentation design skills (PowerPoint)
•    Experience with reporting, both internal and external
•    Flexible and resilient, able to work in ambiguous situations to deliver on time
