JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Data Model Engineer with strong data and analytical skills, you will be tasked with managing all aspects assigned new work/project data management and design activities thoroughly from inception to delivery. You will need to build close working relationships with COO business and CDO in order to gather specific modelling requirements and define and scope the work. In addition, as Data Model Engineer you will also work closely with internal staff, clients and 3rd parties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, implements, and documents data architecture and data modelling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. These solutions support enterprise information management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests.
Understanding the business process and data landscape, creating data models and running design to implementation

The successful candidate will:
1.    Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store, data marts, and data lakes on target platforms.
2.    Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

The successful candidate will:

•    Implement business and IT data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning).
•    Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models
•    Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
•    Identify the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytic models, and data visualization.
•    Hands-on modelling, design, configuration, installation, performance tuning, and sandbox POC.
•    Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks.

Qualifications and Skills

•    Documentation – Data Dictionary/Data Modelling/Data Lineage/Business Rules/DQ Rules/ Data Standards 
•    5+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols).
•    Report Types - Gap Analysis/Problem Analysis/Completeness Dashboards, Etc. 
•    Process/Data Modelling - 'As Is'/'To Be'/ Visio/Enterprise Architect/Erwin, Etc. 
•    Strong query language skills (SQL , Hive ,HBase , ETL ) 
•    Good experience with Business Intelligence tools and Decision Support Systems 
•    Strong data analysis skills using Hive , Spark , Python ,  R , Microstrategy and Tableau.
•    Proven experience in working with key stakeholders within the business 
•    Proven problem solving skills 
•    Proven Experience in Data Management and Data Quality Management techniques. 
•    Stakeholder Management / Analysis 
•    Presentation Skills – Data Story telling using visualisations is must 
•    Soft Skills - Communication/Negotiation/Relationship Building/Influencing

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Qualification
•    7-10 years’ work experience in hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols)
•    Software development experience using
•    Extensive experience in Data Modelling, Data Base and Change Management
•    Documentation - Requirements/Use Cases/Business Rules/User Stories, Etc. 
•    Report Types - Gap Analysis/Problem Analysis/Initial Assessments, Etc. 
•    Process/Data Modelling - 'As Is'/'To Be'/ Visio/Enterprise Architect/System Architect, Etc. 
•    Strong scripting & query language skills (SQL, Hive, ETL, Hadoop, Spark, R, Python, Shell and Power Shell) 
•    Good experience with Business Intelligence tools and Decision Support Systems 
•    Strong data analysis skills using Hive, Spark, R, Python, Dremio, MicroStrategy and Tableau.
