Key Responsibilities

Strategy*

Optimize Wealth and Retail Banking balance sheet and support the implementation of WRB strategic initiatives to drive sustainable growth of the business. 

Business*

Balance Sheet Management

• Optimize WRB balance sheet structure to support business growth plan;

• Review product lines' portfolio performance and provide valuable insights and suggestions for WRB Head and product leaders;

• Monitor various internal and regulatory ratios and limits; Pricing Management

• Review product pricing strategy for margin management and new business acquisition;

• Assess Group and country FTP policies/changes and their impact on business;

• Monitor portfolio and new booking pricing and margin trend and ensure meet internal and external requirements; 

 

Business Planning Management 

• Support APM head on business planning of APM and drive the execution of key initiatives

• Act as contact point of APM to coordinate collaborations among different teams for local and group level exercise

• Support APM head on driving WRB level initiatives as assigned by WRB Head 

 

Processes*

• Review balance sheet development and outlook

• Monitor and help manage internal and regulatory ratios and limits

• Prepare materials for Pricing, Balance Sheet Forum, ALCO and other relevant forums

• Follow-up on various strategic initiatives and ensure targets and deadlines are met 

 

Risk Management*

  • Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies (including anti-money laundering, sanction, anti-bribery & corruption and relevant FCC risks) and the Group Code of Conduct
  • Join related training sessions with proper frequency to keep abreast of latest risk management requirements. Strictly follow all related internal and external regulations and policies.
  • Proactively learn and take actions to ensure conduct initiatives well implemented

Governance 

  • Be alert of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role remit
  • Be responsible for delivering "effective governance"; capable to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any regulatory body in an open and cooperative manner
  • Manage regulatory relationships in relation to the business remit
  • Be responsible for appropriate escalation to any governance committees or to other stakeholders in senior management, risk or control functions as appropriate

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Support Head Risk & Control to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment. 
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Adhere to local regulator [Reserve Bank of India] prescribed responsibilities and Rationale for allocation

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Banking or Finance preferred.  
•    Ideally 5+ years of experience in banking, analytical or another relevant environment
•    Languages: English and/or local language skills as relevant to country requirements
