Job Summary

The Associate Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and growing Priority Banking and Personal Banking client relationships by understanding client needs and providing appropriate banking, wealth, and lending solutions. The role focuses on driving profitable portfolio growth through new client acquisition, relationship deepening, cross-selling, and delivering an exceptional client experience. The incumbent will also support service delivery by handling client requests, resolving queries, managing complaints, and supporting branch teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy – Relationship Management

  • Drive the Affluent Banking strategy by achieving Net Sales Revenue (NSR) targets while maintaining productivity, efficiency, and risk standards.
  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with Priority and Personal Banking clients through proactive engagement and tailored financial solutions.
  • Increase client share of wallet by promoting Wealth Management (WM), retail banking, lending, and deposit products.
  • Provide regular portfolio reviews, financial guidance, and timely follow-up to support evolving client needs.
  • Strengthen relationships with clients and, where appropriate, their family members, advisers, and other key influencers.
  • Retain and grow high-value client portfolios while converting service recovery opportunities into long-term client loyalty.
  • Resolve client queries effectively and deliver outstanding customer service.

Business

  • Contribute to branch performance by achieving revenue and portfolio growth targets while meeting productivity and risk management requirements.

Processes

  • Adhere to approved sales, onboarding, client service, complaint resolution, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and operational processes to ensure consistent delivery and strong control standards.

People & Talent

  • Demonstrate and promote the Group’s values, culture, and valued behaviours.
  • Collaborate effectively with business, risk, and control partners.
  • Complete all mandatory learning and compliance requirements.

Risk Management

  • Operate within the Bank’s Operational Risk framework and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of banking products, retail operations, credit processes, audit requirements, and risk controls.
  • Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) standards.
  • Drive effective complaint management and minimise operational losses.
  • Escalate suspicious transactions in line with fraud and financial crime procedures.

Governance

  • Maintain awareness of the regulatory environment and governance standards applicable to the role.
  • Ensure client information is accessed, processed, and stored only with the required documented consent.
  • Support effective governance by working openly and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professional conduct in line with the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support fair client outcomes, financial crime compliance, and responsible business practices.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate risk, conduct, and compliance concerns.
