Job Description: 

Job Summary

The role is responsible for supporting WRB clients with treasury product transactions by coordinating with SC Financial Markets and relevant counterparties. This includes providing clients with treasury product information, sharing SC’s house views, and helping secure suitable deals and solutions based on client needs.

 

The Role Responsibilities

Strategic Engagement and Product Execution
• Act as the primary liaison between WRB clients, the SC Financial Markets team, and relevant external counterparties to facilitate treasury product transactions with precision and timeliness.
• Provide clients and frontliners with robust, up-to-date treasury product insights and share Standard Chartered’s official market views to support informed decision-making.
• Proactively identify and recommend optimal treasury solutions tailored to client-specific financial goals and risk appetite.

Operational Responsibilities and Relationship Management
• Manage and document daily treasury product sales volume and transactional data accurately to ensure transparent reporting and performance monitoring.
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders including frontliners, risk management, compliance teams, and business units, as well as external stakeholders such as regulators and market counterparties.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Chartered’s established procedures and protocols when managing treasury transactions.

Leadership and Compliance
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills by presenting market and product insights confidently to senior management and external bodies, including regulatory authorities such as OJK and KSEI.
• Exhibit thorough knowledge of market trends, economic indicators, and house views to provide valuable market analysis and guidance.
• Uphold the highest standards of governance ensuring zero audit non-compliance and strict conformity with applicable regulatory frameworks and Group policies.
• Champion ethical business conduct and full compliance with the Group’s Code of Conduct, embedding risk management and regulatory adherence throughout all activities.
• Collaborate proactively to identify, escalate, and mitigate risks and compliance issues, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Brings a minimum of three years’ professional experience as a trader specialising in foreign exchange (FX) and fixed income products such as bonds, with demonstrated success in managing complex transactions.
  • Holds relevant industry certifications such as BSMR Level 1 and WPPEP Certification, showcasing commitment to professional development and market proficiency.
  • Exhibits strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, economic trends, and financial models to provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of presenting complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to diverse audiences including senior leaders and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrates a customer-focused approach, with proven competency in building and sustaining productive relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Values integrity, ethical conduct, and compliance, committed to upholding the highest standards in all professional undertakings.
  • Possesses the agility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic banking environment with a keen eye for detail and risk awareness.
