Job Summary
Strategy
• Ensure compliance with all group and country policies, code of conduct, statutory regulations and laws
• Ensure that the Bank’s and client’s interests are covered in all instances
• Ensure that regulator, internal and group compliance requirements (including Anti Money laundering & Zero Tolerance guidelines) are compiled at all times
• To maintain a positive working relationship with personnel of the other Sections/Divisions of the Bank.
• To maintain good relations with tax consultants
• Ensure completion of EOD processes
• Ensure punctuality and discipline
• Work in shifts whenever required
Business
• Provides best in service to support to address client’s/ tax consultants queries and issues
• Ensures all the information tax certificates are processed as per the agreed deadline.
• Ensures all the instructions are processed well with in the market deadline.
• Ensures all the procedures laid down in the Departmental Operating Instructions and the Key Control Standards are adequately followed.
Key Responsibilities
Processes
• Generate monthly invoices & Accounting of fees in back-office system.
• GRH Reconciliation reporting for Billing and Tax.
• Reporting transactions and corporate actions to tax consultants
• Processing tax certificates received from tax consultants and giving go ahead for repatriation of funds to general banking team
• Discharging taxes on behalf of the clients
• Provide the inputs as required by TC with respect to capital gains computation, on the purchase and sale trades executed by Client(s)
• Respond to the client queries within 24 hrs of receipt.
• Procedures laid down in DOI are adequately followed
• To review procedures and identify process improvements and implement changes as and where required.
• Ensure that the regular conduct of operations adhere to the Key Control Standards
• Ensure changes impacting the operations are implemented in the unit.
People & Talent
• To maintain good relationship with the Tax Consultants and Tax Payee banks.
• To maintain a positive working relationship with personnel of the other Sections/Divisions of the Bank
Risk Management
• Ensure operational incidents and client complaints are logged and escalated to all stakeholders
• Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
Governance
• Ensure that all procedures laid down in the Departmental Operating Instructions and the Key Control Standards laid down by GCS are adequately followed.
• Completion of all Mandatory Risk & Training and related Compliance activities by the set deadlines.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Other Responsibilities
• To perform any job or task resulting from any exigencies as well as those which may be assigned by Manager.
• Extensive participation in the CSS testing for key changes in Taxation modules
• Work towards making process simplified (automation/process re-engineering) to reduce the time or build better controls.
