Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable for the overall leadership, governance, strategic direction, regulatory standing, financial performance and sustainable growth of Standard Chartered Securities (India) Limited.
•    As the principal executive officer of SCSI, the CEO is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the entity as a regulated financial institution, maintaining the highest standards of governance, conduct and risk management while delivering strong commercial outcomes and client value.
•    The CEO serves as the primary interface between the SCSI Board, regulators, shareholders and key external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Standard Chartered Group strategy, values, risk appetite and long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Define and execute SCSI’s long-term strategic vision in alignment with Standard Chartered Group and India priorities.
•    Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and market share across broking, wealth, advisory and investment products.
•    Identify emerging market opportunities, industry trends and competitive developments impacting the securities and investment landscape.
•    Lead innovation and digital transformation initiatives to strengthen client engagement and business performance.
•    Develop strategic partnerships, ecosystem relationships and distribution opportunities that enhance market presence and client acquisition.
•    Ensure business growth is balanced with sound governance, conduct and risk management.

Business
•    Strengthen SCSI’s position as a trusted investment and securities partner.
•    Drive client-centric strategies that improve customer outcomes and satisfaction.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, market participants and industry stakeholders.
•    Represent SCSI at industry forums, regulatory consultations and external engagements.
•    Partner closely with Wealth & Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking and other business leaders to deliver integrated client solutions( on arm’s length basis).

Processes
•    Own overall P&L accountability and financial performance of the entity.
•    Develop and oversee annual business plans, budgets and investment priorities.
•    Drive disciplined capital allocation and effective cost management.
•    Ensure operational excellence across trading, client servicing, technology and support functions.
•    Strengthen scalability, resilience and efficiency through continuous process improvement and technology enablement.

•    Serve as the primary relationship owner with relevant regulatory and industry bodies, including:
o    Securities and Exchange Board of India
o    National Stock Exchange of India
o    BSE Limited
o    Depositories and other relevant authorities.
•    Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, exchange requirements and Group policies.
•    Promote a culture of effective risk management, strong controls and ethical decision-making.
•    Ensure risks are identified, assessed, managed and escalated appropriately.

•    Maintain operational resilience and preparedness for emerging regulatory and market risks.

Governance
•    Act as the accountable executive for the overall management, performance and governance of SCSI as a regulated legal entity.
•    Ensure the entity meets all fiduciary, statutory, regulatory and governance obligations.
•    Execute Board-approved strategies and business priorities while ensuring effective oversight and accountability.
•    Maintain an effective governance framework that supports sustainable growth, operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
•    Foster a culture of integrity, accountability and responsible business conduct.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Securities (India) Limited and the wider Standard Chartered Group. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

• Act as the accountable executive responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), BSE Limited, Depositories and other relevant regulatory authorities. Ensure the entity maintains appropriate governance, risk management, operational resilience and control frameworks consistent with regulatory obligations and Standard Chartered Group requirements.
• Serve as a Director of the Board of Standard Chartered Securities (India) Limited, subject to applicable regulatory and corporate governance approvals.
• Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with the Articles of Association, Board-approved governance framework and delegated authority structure.
• Support the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities through transparent reporting on strategy, financial performance, risk, compliance and governance matters.

Key stakeholders
•    Serve as the primary management representative to the SCSI Board of Directors.
•    Provide timely and transparent updates on business performance, strategy execution, risk profile, regulatory developments and financial outcomes.
•    Support the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities through high-quality reporting and governance practices.
•    Maintain strong relationships with shareholders and Standard Chartered Group stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities
•    Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in SCSI; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats).

Qualifications

•    Minimum 20 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, wealth management, securities, brokerage or related industries.
•    Significant senior executive leadership experience with demonstrated responsibility for business growth, governance and regulatory engagement.
•    Proven track record of leading regulated financial institutions or businesses.
•    Deep understanding of Indian capital markets, securities regulations and exchange operations.
•    Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder environments and regulatory relationships.
•    Postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
•    Professional qualifications such as MBA, CA, CFA or equivalent preferred.
•    The CEO of SCSI will be appointed as Managing Director & CEO (Executive Director) of the Board of Directors of the Company as per the Companies Act, 2013.
•    Individual will be the KMP by holding the designation of MD & CEO as per the Cos. Act. and Designated Director with the Stock Exchanges of the Company as per SEBI requirement.
•    further as per SCB Group requirement the individual will be identified as Accountable Executive of the entity
