Job Summary

As a Credit Analyst specializing in Medium Enterprises, you will be responsible for thoroughly evaluating the creditworthiness of both potential and existing SME Clients. your detailed financial analysis and risk assessments will directly inform lending decisions and contribute to maintaining a healthy loan portfolio. 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of SME financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to evaluate their financial health, liquidity, profitability, and solvency.

Credit Risk Assessment

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of SMEs by considering various factors such as financial performance, industry trends, management quality, business model, market position, and collateral.

Ratio Analysis

  • Interpret financial ratios and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities, benchmarking against industry peers.

Credit Rating and Recommendations

  • Assign internal credit ratings and provide well-supported recommendations on credit limits, loan terms, and risk mitigation strategies.

Credit Reports

  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate credit reports summarizing the analysis, findings, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

Monitoring and Tracking

  • Continuously monitor the credit performance of existing SME clients to identify potential early warning signs of deterioration and proactively manage credit risk.

Industry and Regulatory Awareness

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors that may impact the creditworthiness of SMEs.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Business Development teams, and other relevant departments to support business growth while maintaining acceptable risk levels.

Compliance

  • Ensure all credit analysis and recommendations adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of credit analysis and related documentation.

Skills and Experience


2+ years of experience in credit analysis, preferably with a focus on Small and Medium Enterprises.
● Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, and credit risk assessment techniques.
● Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, including spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
● Ability to interpret financial data and draw sound conclusions.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
● Knowledge of the SME sector and its unique challenges and opportunities.
● Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Qualifications

CA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
