Job Summary

Professional will focus on providing real-time support to the Macro Trading and Sales and structuring business for India, which focuses on compliance advisory for regulatory guidelines as applicable to markets products such as money-market, derivatives, bonds, notes, deposits and other marketable instruments.  This will involve advising on issues (questions, transactions or proposals) related to permissibility of structures, all regulatory requirements impacting products, suitability and appropriateness, market conduct, client classification, underwriting, internal controls, supervision and other issues that are typical for a large global markets division.

Key Responsibilities

o    Provide advice, analysis (and challenge when appropriate) in relation to the implementation of firm policies, applicable markets laws and regulations for Market business activities including product design, new business initiatives, bespoke projects, remedial activities (including nature, scale and rigour of past business reviews), and transactional advice.
o    Draft, update, and implement compliance owned policies and procedures, Provide regulatory/compliance training.
o    Identify regulatory trends and developments that impact business areas, and advise business as to how this may impact their current activities
o    Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality Compliance, Financial Crime & Conduct Risk related advice and guidance to enable the business and functions to meet/ achieve their strategic tactical objectives. 
o    Interact with RBI policy and supervision division and industry bodies such as Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association of India (FIMMDA)/ Foreign Exchange Dealer's Association of India (FEDAI) and Indian Bank's Association (IBA)
o    Perform quick desk reviews or testing for compliance with firm policies and conduct risk assessments of the Business to ensure effective business control framework

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive Industry experience – banking, financial institutions, regulators or fintech, with minimum of 5years in Financial Markets
  • Risk Mgmt. expertise – advanced practitioner level experience in Conduct, Compliance, or Financial Crime Risk Mgmt.
  • Analytical & Communication skills
  • Regulatory knowledge
