Business
•    Standard Chartered M&A provides comprehensive advisory services to its clients on a wide range of M&A transactions and capital-raising activities, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financial restructurings. Our M&A teams are organized by region and work closely with our industry coverage partners, other product groups and global relationship banking team.  

•    This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mumbai based M&A team that covers the South Asia region. Reporting to the regional head of M&A, this Executive Director position will lead deal execution as well as assist with origination and developing client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong execution experience in M&A and / or private equity fund raise transactions. Opportunity to become a key member of an experienced M&A team to help shape and implement future strategy.

•    Responsibility as the First line of defence - Deal Team members (execution) and M&A Management (supervisory)
•    Drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase the consistency of global systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management
•    Ensure compliance with SCB Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation.
•    Proactively advise and monitor all major risk issues. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and / or ensure adequate escalation and reporting to line manager, compliance and risk management.

Governance 
•    Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Take individual responsibility to ensure risk-taking is disciplined and focused

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

•    Capable of independent execution of complex transactions
•    Good team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
