Title: Executive Director, Loan Syndicate

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- I am responsible for developing and managing the distribution capabilities of Loan Syndicate (LS) in South Asia, as part of the implementation of the global Loan Syndicate strategy, aligned to the overall strategic direction of Syndicate & Financing Risk and CIB.
Business
- Recommending underwritings, and fair valuing underwriting positions in South Asia
- Reviewing structure, timing, pricing to market, and executing the distribution strategies of primary syndicated loans in South Asia
- Distribution of secondary loans in South Asia for the Bank alongside Credit & Portfolio Management
- Develop and manage distribution channels to bank and non-bank investors
- Develop and maintain relationships with loan investors in South Asia
- Providing loan market intelligence to Origination Verticals and other product partners in Asia to enable origination to distribute
- Adherence to and promotion of governance, compliance and risk standards
Processes
- Manage all distribution processes, ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite.
- Drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase the consistency of global systems and processes.
- Responsible for production and distribution of marketing materials and communications to investors and clients in relation to Loan Syndicate products.
People & Talent
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
- Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
Job Summary
Risk Management
- Responsible for underwriting, syndication and distribution of syndicated loans in South Asia
- Ensures that syndication and distribution is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with direct reports and other stakeholders
- Ensure any audit and compliance issues relating are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure that risk management matters are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated, where appropriate to relevant risk committee.
Governance
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
- Accountable for escalation and/or other Group governance committees or stakeholders in senior management, risk or control functions.
