Job Summary

This role perform Regulatory Liaisoning activities, managing regulatory inspections, addressing regulatory queries, developing open and credible channel of communication with regulators and providing advisory to functions. 

Key Responsibilities

Processes
•    Manage regulatory exams to ensure smooth conduct.
•    Ensure regulatory queries are responded effectively and on time. 
•    Develop and maintain open and credible channel of communication with the regulators
•    Provide oversight over regulatory submissions to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness of submissions. Working with the key stakeholders across the Bank to deliver effectively on this goal.
•    Provide sound advisory support to businesses / functions on regulatory requirements
•    Provide oversight over IT and Cyber Security related compliance and controls
•    Lead implementation of corrective actions to be taken by the Bank on issues / concerns identified by regulators or the internal stakeholders, and monitor those.
•    Attend various governance meetings
•    Such other compliance work that may be assigned by the CCO or the Bank.

People & Talent
•    Manage team of compliance professionals by continuously guiding and supervising them.
•    Providing training and creating awareness of regulatory requirements / expectations

Risk Management
•    Managing compliance / regulatory risk in the Bank by proactively taking actions and leading teams to deliver more effectively.

Governance
•    Provide inputs and updates on regulatory compliance to Country Risk Committees and other Governance Forums, as applicable, ensuring delivery of consistent communications on priorities and thematic findings.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Lead the Regulatory Liaison activities within CFCR achieve the outcomes set out herein.

•    Business Heads/Functional Heads and their reportees.
•    Country Risk & Compliance teams.
•    Internal Audit team.
•    Regional and Group Compliance Team.
•    Senior Management and Country Management Team.

Qualifications

Education    
•    Chartered Accountant or Management degree in Finance is preferable. Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance background would be ideal.
•    Experience in handling regulatory inspections is desirable.
•    Good knowledge of Compliance, laws, rules, regulatory requirements, including recent regulatory reforms. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively and people at all levels of the organization.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Comprehensive knowledge of banking and investment product across client segments
•    Strong team player
Training    
•    Experience in Data Analytics would be an added advantage.
