Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    Drive the Bank’s Vigilance agenda and work towards strengthening preventive measures 
•    Create a sense of staff awareness through various communication channels to ensure appropriate conduct & vigilance culture within the Bank 
•    Lead the Conduct Vigilance Committee meetings and Country Vigilance Forum to ensure seamless monitoring of investigations and timely execution of vigilance actions. 
•    Robust monitoring of ongoing investigations and share learnings as appropriate within the organisation. 
•    Ensure all disciplinary hearings are completed within the stipulated 90-day timeframe. 
•    Study existing procedure within the organization and collect intelligence about the corrupt practices in the Bank and investigate with the help of GI. Identify areas within the Bank which are prone to corruption and take steps to prevent improper practices / misconducts 
•    Review incidents that give rise to concerns on Vigilance cases and provide direction and guidance towards achieving a robust management of vigilance incidents. 
•    Review investigation trends as provided by the GI team to strengthen internal policies and procedures. 
•    Work closely with relevant stakeholders to plan inspections and report any existence of corruption or malpractices within the system. 
•    Prompt and effective collection of intelligence and measures on preventive vigilance. The Vigilance function is in 3 parts (i)Preventive Vigilance (ii) Punitive Vigilance (iii) Surveillance & Detection 
•    Hold periodic meetings with CEO and relevant CMT stakeholders to furnish reports on Vigilance activities on a periodic basis. 
•    Sensitize organization through broadcast of real Vigilance case studies for preventive Vigilance. 
•    Help the bank to strengthen processes from the perspective of preventive vigilance and creating staff awareness on conduct and culture. 
•    Collaborate with ER, GI, Compliance, Fraud and HR teams, etc for Vigilance activities. 
•    Front-end RBI inspections and be the SPOC for any SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office), ED (Enforcement Directorate) and Law enforcement agencies as and when required.

•    Chair Conduct Vigilance Committee and Country Vigilance Forum meetings.
•    Lead vigilance inspections and front end RBI and regulatory engagements.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Education     Graduate Degree from a Recognized University, Post Graduate Qualification in Management, Finance, Law, Risk Management, Compliance or a Related Discipline is Preferred.
Training     Minimum 15 Years of Business, Risk and Conduct Experience
Languages     English and Hindi
