Job Summary
Strategy
• This role will be responsible for reviewing Financial Planning and Analysing and Cost Management for all SC India entities
Business
• Single point of contact for Priority Sector Lending (Regulatory cost) Outlook
• Review of Enhanced F Financials for providing commentary on Country Financial performance
• Review and track compliance of CSR liability/commitment of the Bank and related procedures
• Review monthly cost closure
• Review Other Banking cost (Corporate Items) including variance analysis to support strategic initiatives
• Review Central and Others Segment performance
• Review South Asia Finance function Cost and Headcount performance
• Review monthly outlook submission for Other Banking (Cost and Income), Finance head count and Cost Outlook.
Processes
Accounting and financial reporting
• The candidate is expected to play a central role in delivering performance analysis and continued cost management
• Review and submission of Group performance submissions by engaging with GFS team
• Provide accounting guidance on various issues related to IFRS reporting and local reporting.
Audit Support
• Support audit of IFRS and local statutory audit
• Drive audit queries and co-ordinate between auditors and internal stakeholders
• End to end closure of audit along with query resolution for subsidiaries
• Submission of ad hoc information to senior management and RBI
Key Responsibilities
Control and Governance
• Financial and local balance reconciliation
• Substantiation of GL balances
• Update and review of DOIs / process note as required
• Peer bank review and analytics
People & Talent
• As a manager, the jobholder needs to assist the team head to:
o Coordinate with support teams in GFS and provide necessary guidance / coaching
o Provide guidance and support and work closely with peer teammates
Risk Management
• To assist the team head to manage the risk arising from various activities via:-
• Presenting findings / following through actions in relevant control / risk forums
• Presenting appropriate information to Board / Country Management Team
Governance
• Understand and ensure compliance with the Group’s financial and regulatory reporting policies and standards with the support from peer teammate and the offshore hub
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Qualifications
• Qualified accountant with relevant working experience in banks/ MNCs or Big 4 banking audit firms
• Hands-on knowledge on regulatory reporting, various guidance/ circulars issued by RBI from to time, basics of banking products.
• Ability to work in an organised way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data to meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and data skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to stakeholders with confidence
• High levels of drive and resilience along with attention to detail.
