Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • This role will be responsible for reviewing local regulatory returns, audit queries, preparation of reports for risk forums and providing support to internal teams 

Business

  • This role covers the full spectrum activities, including – BAU reporting, implementation of new / changes and process enhancements and automation initiatives
  • The candidate should be a subject matter expert to drive related reporting process with the help of his / her peers in the team and the offshore support team 
  • The candidate should be one of the key liaison person interacting with stakeholders within and outside Balance Sheet Management team to provide advice and articulation as per requirements.

Processes

  • Preparation, review & timely submission of the local regulatory returns - RCA III, Leverage, Pillar 3, ICAAP, LCR, NSFR and IRRBB.
  • Core understanding of Derivative business and exposure calculations for Capital, Leverage and LEF as per RBI Basel guidelines.
  • Focus on RWA optimisation and Liquidity efficiency which should help in improvement of the Capital adequacy and Liquidity ratios of the Bank.
  • Resolution of RBI, Statutory and Group Internal audit queries.
  • Understanding the processes and controls to ensure completeness while reporting and analysing the Capital adequacy, Leverage, LCR and NSFR ratios.
  • Preparation and review of the ICAAP document/related data and ensure timely submission to the Regulator with all the approvals i.e. Forums including GIA.
  • Preparation of the CMF packs and minutes of the meeting.
  • Automation projects for Regulatory ratios which includes requirement gathering, UAT and go-live testing.

People & Talent

  • As a manager, the jobholder needs to assist the team head to:-
    • Coordinate with support teams in GFS, FRR and NFRR and provide necessary guidance / coaching
    • Provide guidance and support and work closely with peer teammates

Risk Management

  • To assist the team head to manage the risk arising from process’
  • Introducing / enhancing any necessary control steps 
  • Presenting findings / following through actions in relevant control / risk forums

Governance

  • Documentation in the appropriate forms/committees for change in guidelines, process and assumptions 

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with relevant working experience in banks/ MNCs or Big 4 banking audit firms
  • Hands-on knowledge on various guidance/ circulars issued by RBI from to time, basics of banking products.
  • Ability to work in an organised way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and data skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to stakeholders with confidence
  • High levels of drive and resilience along with attention to detail
