As the Senior Officer - Cash Management Operation at Standard Chartered in Muscat, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing payment service products while positioning the processing centre as a significant revenue generator. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling the costs associated with payment services, ensuring alignment with the department's operational budget, and continually seeking innovative ways to optimize transaction costs such as courier and communication expenses.

You will be tasked with safeguarding the revenue streams by preventing any unauthorized debits to P&L accounts and ensuring strict adherence to tariff applications on payment instructions. Delivering exceptional service quality to both internal and external stakeholders remains paramount, alongside cultivating strong relationships within the organization and with corporate clients, particularly advising large corporates in Saudi Arabia on secure and efficient money transfer methods to exchange-controlled countries.

Operational excellence will be demonstrated through rigorous authenticity checks of all transactions, adherence to service level agreements regarding turnaround times, effective resolution of enquiries and complaints, and robust reconciliation of instruments processed. Managing risks and losses related to payment services through accurate documentation and registration in Phoenix will further ensure compliance and operational integrity. This role offers the opportunity to impact business performance positively while upholding the highest standards of financial and service operations within a dynamic, global banking environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in the banking sector, particularly in remittance processing and cheque clearing, with a strong understanding of payment service operations.
  • Detail-oriented with a collaborative spirit, demonstrating full ownership of processes from initiation to completion, ensuring seamless execution.
  • A results-driven mindset focused on business growth while maintaining a customer-centric approach that prioritizes delivering excellent service.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to manage and engage effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Ability to foster and maintain productive working relationships with peers, business partners, and clients, supporting teamwork and cohesion.
  • Comfort dealing directly with clients and business partners, showcasing strong client engagement and relationship management capabilities.
  • A steadfast commitment to client focus, ensuring that services and solutions meet or exceed expectations

Additionally, you should embody key competencies such as being action-oriented, collaborative, customer-focused, and able to provide clarity and guidance. Managing ambiguity confidently, supporting talent development, demonstrating strategic thinking, making quality decisions, and fostering trust are essential. Technical competence in payment processing and risk management will be crucial for excelling in this role.
