Job Summary
As the Chief Technology and Operations Officer for Egypt, you will be the driving force behind the integrated 'One Bank' Transformation agenda, aligning technology and operational strategies with business objectives. This pivotal leadership role requires close collaboration with the Country Management Team, Group Technology and Operations Management Team, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of the technology and operations vision within Egypt. You will also be the primary liaison with local regulators, ensuring full compliance while advocating for innovation and growth.
Strategic Leadership
You will partner directly with the Country CEO to develop, refine, and execute a bespoke technology and operations strategy for Egypt, fully integrated with Group, Cluster, and Country-level objectives. This involves pioneering initiatives to digitalise banking services, streamline operations using scalable agile methodologies, and establish outcome-based OKRs/KPIs that place client experience at the forefront. Your role includes oversight of critical projects such as acquisitions, regulatory mandates, and other strategic ventures central to the Bank's growth in Egypt.
Bringing innovation to the forefront, you will champion transformation initiatives designed to position the Bank as a leading digital enterprise in the region, driving enhanced productivity, risk reduction, and superior controls through technology. You will guide strategic investment decisions by the Country Management Team, ensuring solutions are optimized for both operational efficiency and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Business Alignment and Operational Excellence
Collaborate closely with Country Management and risk committees to uphold global process standards, enhancing efficiency and scalability within Egypt's banking environment. By engaging with business heads across functions, you will tailor and implement change management programmes that support strategic goals while instilling robust governance frameworks that balance innovation with rigorous risk management.
You will drive discipline in cost management and investment prioritisation, aligning cross-functional teams – including Product Chief Operating Officers and Chief Information Officers – to harmonise project execution and resource allocation. Managing the performance of technology and operational delivery, you will ensure systems remain stable, secure, and fully compliant with service obligations.
As the transformation sponsor, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of integrated projects, advocating the adoption of agile practices and continuous improvement to embed a culture of excellence. Your responsibilities extend to leading data governance and security initiatives, serving as the primary interface for business stakeholders on technology services, and providing hands-on support to local teams where expertise gaps exist.

Qualifications
• Proven senior technology leader with extensive experience managing technology functions within international banking or financial institutions.

• Skilled communicator with the ability to engage and influence at the executive level across multicultural environments.
• Strong commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, with experience building and leading inclusive, high-performing teams.
• Preferred native Arabic speaker with excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
• Relevant academic degree or equivalent professional qualifications in technology, business, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of leadership experience at executive or C-suite level.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, banking systems, and the agile transformation journey.
• Relevant professional certifications and memberships aligned with role responsibilities.
• Completion of bank-mandated and developmental training aligned with role scope.
