We are seeking an individual to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate will be working directly with the Executive Director, Loan Syndicate as well as other team members to maximize the efficiency by being responsible for supporting the distribution capabilities of Loan Syndicate (LS) in the Americas, as part of the implementation of the global Loan Syndicate strategy, aligned to the overall strategic direction of Syndicate & Financing Risk and Corporate Investment Banking.
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and energetic Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will actively participate in the global Syndicate & Financing Risk strategy, which aims to maximise shareholder value, identifies and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of the wider business. You will develop relationships with the loan investor universe, in order to achieve successful primary and secondary distribution objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior directors to coordinate with the business lines, to review deal structures, to optimize sell down strategy/timing, to monitor the bank underwriting exposure, with market sounding, internal reporting, maintaining market and client databases and execute the distribution strategies of primary syndicated loans.
- Assist the bookrunning processes of Americas and other regions’ transactions whilst ensuring stakeholders are updated consistently on the primary syndication process.
- Assist distribution of secondary loans for the Bank alongside Portfolio Management
- Provide loan market intelligence to other product partners
- Adherence to and promotion of governance, compliance and risk standards.
- Provide pricing feedback to various teams as and when requested
- Provide market intelligence to contribute to underwriting decisions and help in monitoring of underwriting risk.
- Manage the team’s market comparable pricing and transactional database with analytical output provided to the wider team as required.
- Write and maintain investors meeting reports and deal pipeline.
- Coordinate with compliance on KYC process and monitoring.
- Ensure timely and accurate update of underwritten deals status in internal systems.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Provide syndication support to product partners and syndication team on various transactions
- Assist in providing information around Syndication strategy that is accurate and detailed for Underwriting Applications on a timely basis (i.e., resulting in minimal to no delays with respect to the transaction), according to the standard and format
- To assist originations in the preparation of client pitchbooks, deals teasers and RFP responses where necessary
- Draft T&C offer sheets according to the specifics of each transaction ensuring that they are accurate and contain the necessary marketing information as stipulated from time to time
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of secondary sales are inputted into the Deal ticket system
- Ensure that sales are inputted into the LS Americas deal ticket book
- Support the team in the preparation of internal presentations
- Ensure that investors feedback are captured in the respective databases
- Ensure that syndication and distribution is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with direct reports and other Stakeholders
- Ensure any audit and compliance issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure that risk management matters are brought up accordingly
Key Skills and experience we look for
- 1-3 years’ experience
- Loan underwriting and loan syndication background
- Project Finance and/or Fund Finance experience
- Structured Finance and/or Lending skills

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 136,000 USD to 170,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
