Job Summary

We are seeking an individual to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate work directly with Financing Solutions Americas’ senior originators, as well as other team members. Coverage includes North America and Latin America.

 

The role is as an Associate Director in the Financing Solutions Americas (Loan Capital Markets) team. The Associate Director will be responsible for assisting in origination, structuring and execution of debt opportunities (particularly in the loan market) for SCB Financing Solutions’ clients across the U.S. and Latin America. Primary client types for Financing Solutions include corporates, financial institutions and sovereigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financing Solutions is primarily focused on the origination, structuring, execution and syndication of financing opportunities in the U.S. and Latin America for Corporates, Financial Institutions and Sovereigns
  • Identify financing opportunities (primarily in the loan market) for existing and new  clients across the Americas
  • Prepare and deliver pitches to clients on identified origination scenarios to maximise SCB involvement in loan opportunities and any related business (DCM and FX/rates hedging as most frequent)
  • Help originate and execute loan financings from inception to completion, which will include credit analysis, structuring, documentation, working with Syndicate & Financing Risk on distribution as well as management of internal booking and reporting processes
  • This includes work on client pitches, drafting offer letters and term sheets, underwriting applications, information memoranda, roadshow presentations, documentation and responding to queries from banks during syndication process.

 

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Assist in the maintenance of internal transaction databases and presentation materials, support with regular portfolio management duties as well as ad-hoc tasks to support our stakeholders
  • Keeping up to date on market developments and undertaking comparable transaction analysis
  • Financial/credit analysis of financing opportunities and preparing summaries and analysis of key risks
  • Manage credit process for financing deals, including preparation of credit applications
  • Perform financial analysis of companies / projects, industry research
  • Build financial models and use for analysis in financing transactions
  • Manage deal documentation process by coordinating with internal legal and external legal counsel
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure deal execution and closing within required timeframe

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA and CMA are highly preferred
  • Experience in finance and accounting required
  • Experience in financial modelling and strong credit analysis skills required
  • Experience in banking required

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 147, 000 USD to 210,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
