Key Responsibilities

•    Uphold the integrity of risk decisions by ensuring that risks are properly assessed, captured, monitored and constrained in accordance with the Group’s Risk Appetite framework and other portfolio limits.
•    Ensure that the CRTF and TRTF are effectively communicated to the team and embedded in our processes.•    Implement a team structure to best support the execution of the business strategy and oversight of risk appetite.
•    Appraise and help develop the Bank’s strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite by providing continuous feedback to the Group Chief Risk Officer’s Management Team and other executive risk forums relevant for the portfolio.
•    Partner with the relevant stakeholders to tackle difficult cross functional issues.•    Monitor the portfolio’s risk parameters. 
•    Supervise all processes owned by the Direct Reports or Matrix Reports’ team members (as applicable).
•    Ensure effective management of operational risks within the Function and compliance with applicable internal policies, external laws and regulations.
•    Strive to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Function.
•    Monitor on-going compliance with, and effectiveness of, the risk control framework.
•    Drive a consistent interpretation and application of TRM policies across all countries in Americas.  
•    Regularly review audit reports / business risk reviews / and identify key regional trends
•    Ensure approvals are within delegated authorities.
•    Supervise all processes where a member of the team is the identified first line process owner.
•    Ensure effective management of the operational risks within the Risk function and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
•    Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the risk management processes.

Risk Governance

•    Implement the overall Risk Management Framework for Traded Products and oversee its effective application in Americas. Complement with a region-specific risk framework when required.  
•    Assist TRM Head or directly contribute to the various Risk and Credit Issue Forum and risk-related Committees by providing updates on relevant risk topics, regulatory developments or changes in policies and processes. 
•    Ensure global and regional business and product heads and all Risk Control Owners understand and accept their risk management responsibilities through Markets local and regional committees.
•    Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with regulators and auditors.
•    Ensure that material traded risks are reported to the relevant Risk Committees.  
•    Keep abreast with the latest development impacting the Market business from a risk and capital perspective.

•    Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to assign Risk authorities in the Function to suitable named individuals in line with their skills and judgment. 
•    Ensure that material traded, credit and operational risks are reported to the relevant committees and governance forums.
•    Ensure global and regional business and product heads and all Risk Framework Owners understand and accept their risk management responsibilities through FM’s local and regional committees.
•    Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to assign authorities to suitable individuals.
•    Ensure appropriate judgement is applied in the discharge of risk authorities.

Risk Apetite

•    Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, by challenging business and control function heads to ensure that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy and risk appetite.
•    Ensure that meaningful stress tests, portfolio limits or other constraining parameters are in place.
•    Be alert to significant market movement or material events and provide timely analysis and recommended actions.•    Ensure risk identification, measurement, reporting and modelling capabilities are objective, consistent and compliant with applicable regulations.

Risk Framework Ownership of Traded, Credit and Operational Risk

•    Provide oversight of the Operational Risk Framework in relation to the TRM activities, ensure the completeness of the activities and lead the remediation of any identified gap.
•    Ensure that material risk exposures or material issues are escalated to TRM Head, Americas for discussion at the relevant Financial Risk and Non-Financial Risk Committees.
•    Design and oversee the implementation and effectively communicate risk control parameters, including policies, standards, limits and other control levers to the businesses and TRM teams.

General Management of TRM CCR Function in Americas  
•    Monitor CCR exposures in the FM portfolios. Provide early warning and identify deteriorating credits.
•    Ensure that limit excesses, late confirmations, failed trades, missed margin calls are addressed timely and effectively.
•    Support FM’s business initiatives by providing thorough and timely inputs into Product Programs and Country Addendums.
•    Contribute to the strategic intent and Collective Agenda for the TRM Function. Communicate the same to the TRM CCR team in Americas. 
•    Ensure effective management of operational risks within the CCR Function and compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations.
•    Manage and develop risk capabilities, skills to meet ongoing business needs and plans. Actively engage in the design and development of the infrastructure.  

General Management of TRM Commodities Risk in Americas  
•    To focus on counterparty risks from the Commodities business and act as subject matter expert as 2LOD of the bank and work with 1LOD to effectively manage the risk.  
•    To enhance risk management to identify any early warning signal on CCR exposure arising from FM commodities business and establish portfolio limit if needed to contain the risk.
•    To participate in Commodities Counterparty Credit Risk Forum (CCCRF) and timely escalate any concern or emerging risk, including to country and regions.
•    To assist in support of new products or business initiatives arising from FM Commodities business and ensure risk identification, measurement, reporting, and modelling capabilities are fit for purpose and compliant with applicable regulations.
•    To actively engage in assisting the design and development of the infrastructure supporting FM Commodities.
•    To keep abreast of any global or country regulatory development impacting commodity businesses from a risk and capital perspective.

Qualifications

•    Market knowledge: substantial experience at the highest level in the banking industry, including demonstrated success in a similar role.
•    Business strategy and model: sharp business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return), strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness.
•    Risk management and control: demonstrated track record in successful management and ability to manage risk in geographically dispersed and highly varied product base. Expertise in process design and control.
•    Regulatory framework and requirement: awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role of Chief Credit Officer, Financial Institutions Risk 
•    Non-technical skills: significant relationship management experience- with external stakeholder at the most senior levels, including client executives, regulators and rating agencies.
•    Languages; English.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 234,230 USD to 325,320 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
