Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Clients/ Partners: Collaborate and partner with financial sponsors, funds and private credit institutions. To evaluate and implement solutions such as advisory and financing for sponsors and funds’ clients for transportation assets, and access for our corporate clients to the private credit capital pool with joint commitments on direct lending.
• Industry: Primary focus to originate in aviation across the lessor spectrum. Down the line, to expand further into other transportation segments including airlines, shipping, airports, infrastructure, etc. Develop a client focused strategy for these segments to generate a stable long-term revenue stream for the business.
Business
• Effectively use industry expertise, knowledge and professional network to develop and lead the strategies outlined with a strong focus on Originate to Distribute model.
• Complete and independent ownership of all aspects covering development of client strategy, deal sourcing, evaluation and execution with a firm view on the constant trade-offs between new business, risk, return and capital deployment
• Active role in origination, pitching, and execution of strategic/ financial/ debt advisory mandates
• Client interface at CxO levels and ensuring that the engagement, services and quality of work meets the highest industry standards
• Generate a consistent flow of high-quality pipeline opportunities across aviation and other transportation segments
• Keeping abreast of key developments in transportation and working closely with internal stakeholders across sustainable finance and financial markets to actively spot and create client opportunities
Processes
• Responsible as deal team member/ leader for end to end aspects of any strategic initiative or transaction covering origination, structuring, pitching, negotiations, due diligence, execution, credit engagement, approval processes and legal documentation
• Efficiently manage multiple stakeholders and deals at the same time working in close coordination with other deal team members, across functions, businesses and geographies.
People & Talent
• Lead by example to build the right culture, set objectives and expectations from the junior members and provide feedback through regular engagement
• Collaboration with all internal stakeholders especially senior stakeholders across coverage, risk, other product teams such as syndications/ distribution, financial markets and transaction banking, and support functions
Risk Management
• Ensure that new and existing business is consistent with the Bank’s policies, meeting applicable credit and other risk criteria, internal procedures and provide acceptable risk adjusted returns for the Bank, in line with the credit underwriting principles
• Pro-active risk management through strong engagement with clients and management of exposure.
• If and when the situation arise, own-up the transactions and lead the restructuring/recovery along with the distressed/ special assets team

• Understand and be aware of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Qualifications
• Degree from an accredited university
• 8+ years of work experience in a bank or financial institution preferably in aviation finance, corporate finance, transportation structured finance and/or project finance.
• Expertise on asset finance advisory, debt financing, operating and/or finance lease structures
• Excellent knowledge of, work experience, and good network, within the Aviation industry is a must-have requirement
• Good and proven understanding of sustainable finance and ESG trends in the sector
• Strong demonstrated credentials in managing and executing large complex well-structured transactions and confidently dealing with C-suite management
• Superior analytical aptitude, interpersonal/ communication and organisational skills
• Leadership potential is highly valued and ability to mentor junior resources within the team
• Strong work ethic, detail orientation, attention to detail and a passion for excellence
• Ability to multitask and deliver under time pressure in a highly competitive and dynamic deal driven environment

Recruitment Assessments
Expected annual base pay range for the role is 210,000 USD to 275,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
