Job Description: 

Job Summary

Grow the Structuring business in the Americas (North America and LATAM) through value added solutions (bespoke hedging, investment and financing) to corporate, BBD, and Investor clients.

 

Strategy
•    Work with respective Product Heads, Sales Heads and in-country Heads of Markets to help grow the structured credit business in line with SCB’s overall strategy
•    Drive structured business covering complex or bespoke investment/financing products across clients in Americas
•    Work in close collaboration with client coverage teams and various product partners to design bespoke solutions based the client’s situation and objectives
•    Provide inputs for the regional Americas and Global Structuring team to share product/client experience 
•    Drive service excellence via robust product support, bespoke solutions and strategic cross-asset guidance

Business
•    A structurer needs to deliver practical and viable solutions, within several objectives and constraints, conciliating among various stakeholders:
•    Clients (economic objectives, hedging policies, risk appetite, ...)
•    Bank’s resources (Credit limits, balance sheet returns, liquidity availability, reputational risk, ...)
•    Markets and products (trading limits, market liquidity, available products and payoffs, ...)
•    Regulatory (Legal and compliance, tax, accounting, ...)
•    Work with respective FM Product teams and relevant Regional/Country Heads, identify the initiatives needed to grow the Credit Structuring business on a short, medium and long-term basis
•    Work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver new product capabilities to enhance efficiency and expansion of the business 
•    Drive structured transactions from idea origination to deal execution 
•    Demonstrate excellent soft skills including deal communications, idea sharing, stakeholders liaison and strong team play 
•    Co-operate on global initiatives and share information and ideas with sale and structuring
•    Deliver training and education on structured products to internal and external audiences

Key Responsibilities

Processes
•    Structuring is not responsible under the ORF (Operational Risk Framework) as 1st & 2nd line; for executing / completing, and for supervising any of the processes.

People & Talent
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.  Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
•    Provide leadership, management and coaching to junior members in the team in order to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential

Risk Management / Governance
•    Enforce a culture of risk management and ensure that the teams comply with the risk management processes in place
•    Provide impartial guidance of matters of product / client appropriateness and suitability. 
•    Discourage transactions with unmanageable market risk profiles. 
•    Ensure that adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in place to comply with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, Compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation 
•    Escalate any risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, carry out remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting. 
•    Protect the stability, long-term sustainability and reputation of the Bank.

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 175,000 USD to 325,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
