Job Summary
The Relationship Manager sits within the Prime Brokerage Business unit and assumes ownership of Prime client relationships. The role develops client-specific strategies to increase revenue for the Prime Business. Working closely with Sales, Product and dedicated operational support, the role takes a proactive, dynamic and holistic approach to commercially focused account management, responding to the evolving needs of a growing client and product base.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Review the assigned client portfolio and define a clear Prime Services strategy for each relationship.
• Create and maintain a Prime Services addendum to the relevant bank-level Client Account Plan, aligned with the Global Account Management team.
• Build and maintain Client Engagement Plans that translate account strategy into clear actions, priorities and opportunities.
• Apply market, product and client insight to identify opportunities to deepen relationships, increase wallet share and support the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Business
• Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients and provide back-up coverage for other team portfolios to ensure consistent regional and global service.
• Assume full ownership of assigned accounts and contribute to the delivery of individual and team budgets agreed with senior management.
• Execute Client Engagement Plans
• Gather client feedback and requirements, working with the broader Prime Services team to shape product, service and efficiency initiatives.
• Strengthen existing relationships, develop senior client access and position the Bank as a trusted, go-to Prime Services partner.
• Track business performance, including revenue, pipeline, client activity, wallet opportunity, limits and progress against budget.
Processes
• Maintain accurate and current account plans, engagement plans, call reports, client contacts and meeting schedules.
• Continuously monitor client activity, including volumes, limits, client income and relevant performance trends.
• Maintain reliable management information covering revenue, market-wallet data, pipeline and client engagement.
• Conduct regular account analysis using available client intelligence and performance data to identify gaps, trends and opportunities.
• Coordinate effectively across regions and teams to deliver seamless follow-the-sun coverage, supported by clear desk operating instructions and handover practices.
• Support timely escalation, investigation and resolution of client issues while keeping clients and internal stakeholders appropriately informed.
Risk Management
• Act as the senior escalation point for assigned clients, managing complex or challenging situations professionally and balancing client and internal stakeholder expectations.
• Identify, assess and escalate operational, conduct and relationship risks in a timely manner.
• Promote attention to detail and disciplined execution to reduce avoidable errors and improve the quality of client outcomes.
• Monitor client activity and limits, and work with relevant control and operational teams to address emerging risks.
• Ensure issues, decisions and remediation actions are documented, owned and tracked through to completion.
Governance
• Maintain clear accountability for client coverage, including primary and back-up relationship ownership.
• Align Prime Services account plans with wider bank-level client plans and relevant senior management priorities.
• Provide accurate, timely and decision-useful management information on relationship health, commercial performance, risks and pipeline.
• Support regular portfolio reviews and ensure agreed actions are assigned, monitored and completed.
• Apply appropriate governance to client communications, cross-regional handovers and escalation management.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, standards and the Bank’s Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professional conduct in all client and internal interactions.
• Identify, escalate and resolve regulatory, compliance and conduct matters promptly and transparently.
• Ensure client activity and relationship decisions are managed within approved risk appetite, mandates and control frameworks.
• Complete required training and support a culture of effective challenge, accountability and continuous control improvement.

• Undertake other reasonable duties aligned with the purpose and seniority of the role.

Qualifications
Key Experiences
• Significant experience in institutional client relationship management, Prime Services, Prime Brokerage or a closely related financial-markets business; demonstrated ownership of senior client relationships, commercial plans, revenue pipelines and complex issue resolution.
• Experience in FX Prime Brokerage, OTC Clearing and Futures Clearing (Preferred).

Recruitment Assessments
Expected annual base pay range for the role is 188,008 USD to 222,955 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
