Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY

Implement the strategy for CPM in Europe and America region in line with Global CPM strategy. Set and monitor delivery of business performance objectives for Americas, ensure adherence to CPM business conduct framework within the region.

 

CPM Assets

  • Enabling better and faster decision making by the frontline by providing transparency and global consistency, complementing the current Risk and Finance functions. This includes reinforcing first line ownership of risk.
  • Review Capital Allocation Forum (“CAF”) submissions on a risk / reward matrix including feedback from distribution teams
  • Help the region to manage their Sub Optimal targets by providing inputs to Regional Head, Coverage on relationships that could turn sub optimal in next couple of quarters
  • Monitor Deal Team (“DT”) executing commitments made to CAF and assist them with understanding implications of Basel 3.1 on their respective portfolios
  • Work closely with CPM liabilities on co-ordination of action items agreed at ALCO’s
  • Monitoring the portfolio for any potential credit issues and help reduce exposures through secondary distribution and/or hedging - thereby playing a key role in reducing concentration risks and freeing up regulatory capital. Optimising the portfolio while remaining within risk tolerance

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAG

  • Proactive assessment of Risk at CIC Forums
  • Implement the strategy for CPM relating to management of CIB stressed exposures in Americas region. Stressed exposures to include legacy CG 13 to CG 14 exposure to be managed by Stressed Asset Group, all new CG 13 and CG 14 exposures effective 1 January 2022, and any other exposure(s) across the CIB balance sheet with imminent signs of impending stress. 
  • Work closely with Syndicate / other lenders on restructuring and ensure SCB concerns are heard and tackled in eventual plans. 
  • Ensure adherence to CPM business conduct framework in implementing this strategy. Work towards optimisation of RWA and liquidity in the legacy stressed asset portfolio for Americas region and ensure appropriate data capture/ data management that can feed into and improve CIB’s data / credit modelling regimes.
  • Ensure IFRS 9 accounting is completed timely and accurately 
  • Ensure CST checks completed timely.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Over 12-15 years of relevant experience in the banking and financial services industry
  • Ideally such experience should be within Structured Finance or Stress Asset Management verticals 
  • Keen eye for details and excellent understanding of business drivers and risk management
  • Experience in Europe and US would be preferred 
  • Appreciation of fundamental drivers of portfolio and balance sheet management; including market and regulatory dynamics
  • Experience in asset distribution, credit derivatives and asset securitisation.
  • Experience in credit risk management principles and techniques
