Job Summary
Executive Director, Loan Syndicate, Americas, is responsible for developing and managing the syndicate and distribution capabilities of Loan Syndicate in the Americas as part of the implementation of the global Loan Syndicate strategy. This role involves actively participating in determining the Syndicate & Financing Risk strategy, with a focus on subscription lines distribution. Other Financial Risk verticals include commercial real estate, Leverage acquisition and project finance. Aims to maximize shareholder value, identify and create areas of competitive advantage, and align with the overall strategic direction of Syndicate & Financing Risk and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). The Executive Director will ensure the successful execution of syndication transactions from origination to closing, while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and investors
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and managing the syndicate and distribution capabilities of Loan Syndicate in the Americas as part of the implementation of the global Loan Syndicate strategy.
- Responsible for underwriting, syndication and distribution of syndicated loans in the Americas with a primary focus on the Fund Finance space.
- Lead, define and set Syndicate & Financing Risk strategy, which aims to maximise shareholder value, identifies, and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of Syndicate & Financing Risk and CIB.
- Lead in recommending underwritings, and fair valuing underwriting positions in the Americas
- Lead in reviewing structure, timing, pricing to market, and executing the distribution strategies of primary syndicated loans in the Americas
- Develop and manage distribution channels to bank and non-bank investors
- Develop and maintain relationships with loan investors
- Advise on loan market intelligence to Global Banking product Origination Verticals in the Americas to enable origination to distribute
- Distribution of secondary loans for the Bank alongside Portfolio Asset Management team.
- Manage all distribution processes, ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite.
- Advocate and drive continuous improvement of the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes to increase the consistency of global systems and processes.
- Lead responsibly and provide oversight for production and distribution of marketing materials and communications to investors and clients in relation to Loan Syndicate products.
- Ensures that syndication and distribution is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with direct reports and other stakeholders
- Ensure any audit and compliance issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure that risk management matters are brought to my attention are subject to direct remedial action and/or escalated, where appropriate to relevant risk committee.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in loan syndication, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful transactions.
- Strong understanding of loan markets, syndication processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 256,000 USD to 320,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
