Job Summary

The Structured Trade Solutions team (STS) is a team within the TB Trade and Working Capital, which is responsible for origination, negotiation and structuring of bespoke or Structured trade finance solutions to meet our client needs. This team drives Industry sector specialisation for Trade and Working capital. The industry specialisation should help understand the sector requirements across various regions and drive thought leadership with relevant senior levels at the client organisations and this will help SC retain and grow wallet share. Consulting with client, industry thought leadership and specialist knowledge of solutions is the way the team members drive origination and then lead with structuring and negotiation of solutions. You are responsible for delivering the revenue budget for your assigned sector by delivering bespoke or big ticket transactions. You will also contribute to thematising industry related needs and replicate solutions across clients within the industry (where relevant). 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    As a core and senior member of the team, contribute actively to the global STS strategy and plan for successful execution of the strategy in the region.
•    Drive thematic Industry discussions with clients
•    Replicate relevant transactions within the industry and across industries
•    Create a uniform identity and experience for our clients in the industry and account for the regional nuances.

Business
Solutions Development & Delivery
•    Based on the broader understanding of industry and solution, identify opportunities or situations within an industry or client. Engage consultatively to create optionality and solutions for clients and convert them into successful deals which help solve for client need.
•    Provide inputs into the product managers on key requirements to be developed or deviations which are BAU and don’t need exception approvals

Financial Management – Product P/L Management
•    Deliver budget, through active management of:
o    Revenue (existing and new revenue streams)
o    Number of deals executed / Number of unique clients for which deals executed
o    Number of proactive client pitches
o    Utilisation on deals approved
o    Replication of solutions across clients in the sector
o    Returns (i.e. product profitability) [ROE / RORWA] at a deal or client level

People & Talent 
•    Demonstrate leadership in the team (even where there is no direct reporting lines) by providing expert guidance to the Director level transactors, in identifying opportunities/ solutions for clients, mitigating risks and articulating effectively to risk teams, ensuring process risk issues are identified and minimised. 

Risk Management
•    To be able to articulate to the client, risk and other relevant teams on how a proposed solutions meets client needs, enable it to be more efficient, enable it to grow and scale its business, mitigate its risks and how it helps in a wider investor participation for a financing where required. 
•    Has comprehensive or wide knowledge of legal aspects linked to an instrument, debt, security in the relevant jurisdictions; local regulations and initiatives of local industry bodies to stay ahead of the regulatory change agenda and/or how it affects the solutions.
•    Takes the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational, and ethical matters by providing proactive advice to clients and sales teams
•    Ensures adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations
•    Ensure appropriate inputs are incorporated in  credit memo / Term sheet / Pre-Screening, etc 
•    Actively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters for the region and delivery mechanisms relevant for the industry globally, in a timely manner

Qualifications

•    Total years of experience 10+ years
•    Have knowledge of the TMT sector globally and had connectivity with key clients in the sector in Europe/Americas
•    Have led or delivered complex/bespoke transactions for at least [3-5] years with good experience and delivering complex solutions (including syndicated deals, big distributor finance and receivables programs and structured trade finance transactions) and demonstrate industry and transactional leadership skills.
•    Understands nuances of working with third party platforms/fintechs, structures and risks involved
•    Have worked on securitisation, receivables purchase and supplier finance transactions
•    Have worked across multiple regions and with large clients
•    Core Credit and Risk Management Certification completed or to be completed within 12 months of joining the team.

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 175,000 USD to 260,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
