Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Planning Manager, CTOO Americas who is ready to support us 2 days from New York and 1 day from Newark office and who will be responsible for a strategic and highly visible for driving the planning, execution, and performance monitoring of critical business and operational initiatives across Americas region.

This role serves as a key liaison between the Chief Technology and Operations Officer, regional business leaders,US Management Team and global functions, translating high-level corporate strategy into actionable regional plans that ensure operational excellence, resource alignment and financial targets are met. 

The Business Planning Manager will be supporting the annual business planning cycle, manage strategic projects, and provide comprehensive performance analysis to support executive decision-making. We are looking for candidates who will be working closely with the wider Corporate Investment Banking and Operations teams who has proven experience in business management, exceptional analytical and financial experience, as well as managing multiple projects with a deep understanding of the America business environment and regulatory landscape.

Further responsibilities include being responsible for tracking and submitting required information as part of regulatory exams, monitoring requests, Internal Audits as well as partnering with CTOO, Americas Leadership team to ensure departmental submissions are robust and timely. The successful candidate will be supporting the CTOO, Americas in setting the governance structure for Operations working closely with Key Stakeholders such as CTOO, Americas, Operations and Technology Management, Americas, CEO office, Americas, Human Resources, Americas as well as Finance (Country Finance and Group Operations Finance) teams.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Support the implementation of strategic objectives for the Americas CTOO team.

Business
•    Responsible for supporting the CTOO, Americas on effective day-to-day management of the team, including financial management, stakeholder communications (i.e. memo / presentations), and Group initiatives / processes.
•    Provide overall project management support to the CTOO, Americas.

Processes
•    Responsible for management of the CTOO, Americas budget, forecast and headcount processes, as stipulated by Group. Coordinate with Americas CTOO Leadership team, Finance teams and Group to ensure accurate budget and forecasting. This includes variance analysis with meaningful commentaries on cost over/under run against budget and forecasts.
•    Responsible for tracking and recording of CTOO, Americas efficiencies. 
•    Coordinate with Americas CTOO top-team and assist in determining and adapting to best practices across Operations.
•    Lead coordination of responses to Group Operations, Country / Regional CEO’s office on adhoc requests for information including volumes, financials, capacity, headcount for Americas Operations.
•    Support CTOO, Americas on the management of action items from Committees / Forums / Working Groups.
•    Prepare MIS reports / dashboards as required by the CTOO, Americas such as volume reporting, capacity analysis, financial analysis, etc.
•    Maintain the relevant Service Level Agreements on behalf of CTOO, Americas for certain GBS units. Responsible to ensure group TPRM process is followed and Outsourcing Inventory is maintained as per policy.

People & Talent
•    Engage with Human Resources on various processes such as P3, My Voice, control checks, etc. Ensure Americas CTOO completion status is per Group expectation for all HR initiatives/processes.
•    Responsible for coordinating various training initiatives for Americas CTOO team

Qualifications

•    Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: University educated
•    Substantial experience in the banking industry, ideally demonstrated success in a similar role
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity
•    Ability to manage geographically dispersed and highly varied internal and external stakeholder base
•    Proven ability to work independently, be resourceful & solutions oriented
•    Ability to effectively prioritise multiple responsibilities in a high pressure environment
•    Exemplary integrity, ethics, and resilience
•    Strong project management and organisational skills
•    Advanced analytical and numerical skills

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 96,030 USD to 145,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
