Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Performance & Reward (P&R) professional to join our PRB partnering team in New York, NY. This role works closely with senior business leaders and HR stakeholders across the US & Americas to design and deliver performance and reward outcomes that support our strategy, strengthen a high-performance culture, and reinforce the highest standards of conduct and sustainability. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor on a broad range of compensation and performance topics, balancing commercial outcomes with robust governance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trusted advisor on full scope of US & Americas compensation matters, with a particular focus on CIB.
  • Advise on compensation matters, including structuring packages, reviewing new hires, developing high remuneration proposals, mobility taxation and share buy-outs for the region.
  • Close partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition teams to structure competitive and compelling offers which are aligned with the banks overall strategy and risk appetite.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of regulatory remuneration guidelines and how these interact with internal policies and guidance. Be prepared to support region wide communications and answer questions from the business.
  • Develop equal pay and wellbeing strategies and targeted interventions for the Americas.
  • Provide advisory support to country CEO and HR teams on compensation aspects of regulatory and union matters pertaining to specific locations.
  • Establish relationships with the Head of HR for the US & Americas, HR business partners and Country MT in order to lead the local market reward agenda and align local market practice with that of the Group.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their engagement and sponsorship of the Group’s compensation approach.
  • Monitor the performance and effectiveness of reward policies, programmes and processes in achieving business objectives.
  • Work with the Head, PRB, Europe and Americas and the Global PRB network to ensure that compensation activities within US & Americas are aligned with Group policies and standards.
  • Proactively support the communication of changes to Group compensation policies and standards to stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Integral member of global advisory team managing year-end incentive and salary outcomes for the US & Americas population.
  • Manage performance and pay review processes in line with global principles, in partnership with business and HR stakeholders.
  • Identify, monitor and mitigate operational risk, ensuring proper controls are in place and maintained in line with the Groups operational risk framework.
  • Coach Performance & Reward Advisory Support colleagues in Chennai, motivating and developing them to achieve high standards of performance.
  • Manage audit and review activities in relation to US and Americas compensation.
  • Work with business and HR process owners to articulate and manage risks through designated risk forums and/or process or product governance committees.
  • Work with the Reward Governance team to align remuneration with regulatory guidance.
  • Contribute to governance bodies (e.g., papers for country board meetings and relevant sub-committees).

Experience we look for

  • Trusted advisor with strong stakeholder management skills, including leading meetings with the CEO Office and presenting to Risk and Pensions Committees.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders across complex, regulated environments.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to simplify complex topics and influence outcomes.
  • Solid compensation experience, including salary range analysis, year-end bonus pool processes, and broader reward cycles and processes.
  • Experience in handling highly accurate in data, with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Experienced in pensions and benefits governance, including committee support and stakeholder forums.
  • Self-directed and independent, comfortable working autonomously in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong end-to-end ownership, able to manage a portfolio with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced Excel capability, particularly for compensation analysis, reporting, and data management.

Recruitment Assessments

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 150,000 USD to 200,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
