Job Summary

Assistant Relationship Manager provides direct sales support to the Senior Banker/Banker to originate new business and is jointly accountable for client revenues and profitability. This role involves strategic client engagement, proactive sales discipline, and effective portfolio management to ensure growth and compliance with the Bank's standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting our FI Banker in all origination activities:

  • In partnership with relationship managers, jointly accountable for client revenues 
  • Proactively assist with transactional support on origination activities i.e. pitch books, industry leads etc; including coordination with network and product
  • Client analysis, reporting on post origination activities; client meeting documentation; adherence to sales discipline requirements, case studies
  • Client meeting preparation and execution 
  • Competitor analysis, compare/contrast SCB’s value proposition vs. its peers
  • Support in account strategy process for each client by involving all relevant internal stakeholders
  • Participate in conversations with client on account strategy/wallet sizing/transactions/pricing issues
  • Drive on-going client engagement and constant monitoring of client performance by being familiar with overall industry business, performance and outlook.
  • Drive product and geography cross sell with clients

Risk Management

  • On-going monitoring against revolving business environment and ensure risk triggers and transaction covenants are satisfactorily reviewed and attended to
  • Work closely with clients to understand buying behaviour and need in order to right size limits to ensure optimal usage, maximise client RoRWA and reduce drag on assets
  • Be proactive in ensuring compliance with Bank policies and procedures and lead preparation of client files for audit purposes

Governance

  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Banking or Finance (preferred).
  • Experience: Good experience in banking or relevant environment.
  • Certifications: Risk & AML certification as per Bank policy.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Languages: English and French required. Italian or Spanish would be beneficial.
