We are looking for a highly motivated Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Intern to join our Paris team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an international investment banking environment, working closely with professionals across Paris and London.
The Role
As a Debt Capital Markets Intern, you will support the continued growth of our Corporate DCM franchise by assisting the team with market analysis, client engagement materials, transaction support, and business development initiatives. You will gain exposure to debt capital markets products, market dynamics, and the execution of financing solutions for corporate clients across Europe and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Business Support & Client Engagement
- Support the DCM team in its day-to-day activities across Paris and London.
- Assist in the preparation of client presentations, pitch books, marketing materials, and market updates.
- Conduct market research and monitor regulatory developments across Europe, the United States, and Asia.
- Help generate market insights and trade ideas to support client discussions and business development activities.
- Contribute to the Bank's strategy of expanding and strengthening relationships with European corporate clients.
- Collaborate with teams across Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, Financial Markets Sales, Legal, Compliance, Syndicate, Structuring, Credit, Ratings Advisory, and M&A.
Market Analysis & Execution Support
- Prepare pricing indications and support transaction-related analyses.
- Track developments in macroeconomic, credit, fixed income, and financial markets.
- Support the production and review of market intelligence and client-facing materials.
- Assist in maintaining high-quality deliverables within demanding timelines.
- Develop an understanding of DCM transaction processes, risk considerations, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Build effective working relationships across internal teams and functions.
- Ensure timely responses to requests while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Support coordination between stakeholders involved in transaction execution and client coverage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
Qualifications
We are seeking students currently enrolled in a Master's degree (BAC+4/BAC+5) programme at a leading university, business school, or engineering school.
Preferred Profile
- Studying Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in French is advantageous.
- Previous internship or exposure to Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, or Financial Markets is a plus.
- Strong interest in fixed income markets, capital raising, and corporate finance.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural and international environment.
- Proficiency in French is considered a strong advantage.
