About the opportunity
Are you looking to launch your career in Debt Capital Markets and gain hands-on experience in an international banking environment?
We are looking for a motivated and analytically minded Debt Capital Markets Intern to join our team in Paris for a six-month internship. You will work alongside our DCM professionals supporting both Financial Institutions and Corporate clients, gaining practical exposure to financial markets, debt financing and the execution environment of an international bank.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is curious about financial markets and wants to develop a strong understanding of DCM while working in an international and multicultural environment. This internship offers the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and experience how Debt Capital Markets works in practice.
You will join an established Paris DCM team with a long-running internship programme and gain exposure to real market activity, client work and the interaction between different areas of an international bank. If you are curious about financial markets, enjoy working with data and want to build a career in capital markets, we would be delighted to hear from you.
What you will do
As part of the DCM team, you will support our day-to-day client and market activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor financial markets and relevant macroeconomic, regulatory and fiscal developments.
- Prepare regular market updates, pricing indications and client materials.
- Support the preparation of pitch books and presentations for Financial Institutions, corporate and SSA clients.
- Analyse market data and help the team identify relevant financing opportunities and potential trade ideas.
- Develop an understanding of the financing needs of European banks, insurance companies, corporates and supranational institutions.
- Follow developments across European markets as well as relevant trends in the US and Asia.
- Work closely with colleagues across Capital Markets, Coverage, Financial Markets Sales, Legal and Compliance.
- Build an understanding of the full DCM process, including the key steps required to prepare and execute a debt capital markets transaction.
- Contribute proactively to delivering timely, high-quality market intelligence and materials to our clients.
The hiring manager specifically described the day-to-day work as market monitoring, putting data together and preparing market and pricing updates for long-standing clients.
What you will learn
During the internship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Build practical knowledge of Debt Capital Markets and fixed-income markets.
- Develop your understanding of how market conditions influence financing strategies.
- Gain exposure to both Financial Institutions and Corporate DCM.
- Strengthen your financial analysis, market research and presentation skills.
- Understand how different teams across an international bank collaborate to serve clients.
- Gain experience working in a fast-paced, international and multicultural environment.
About you
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with curiosity, attention to detail and a genuine interest in financial markets.
You should ideally:
- Be currently pursuing a BAC+4/5 degree (Master’s level or equivalent) at a university, business school or engineering school.
