Lead DAF Continental Europe team (excluding UK and Nordics) , Americas and Global Lead on Defence and Cruise Shipping sector, to originate and execute ECA / DFI / MDB transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Formulate and implement DAF Continental Europe & Americas, Defence and Cruise Shipping strategy (i) ECA international contractor approach, (ii) multi-ECAs transaction and (iii) PF/ECA advisory the context of the overall IDFG strategy plan.
• Rollout clear marketing plans across key markets including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Americas (North and LATAM).
• Build trusted relationships with Sponsors, Promoters, Exporters, Agencies and Commercial Banks
• Establish SCB’s position as one of the leading DAF Banks in Europe & Americas
• Build execution capabilities and local regulatory knowledge across the major markets under coverage
• Provide “thought leadership” to the clients and in the industry
• Contribute to formulation and successful execution of IDFG 5-year strategic corporate plan.
Business
• Lead the Development & Agency Finance (DAF) Business in Continental Europe & Americas and in sectors including Defence and Cruise Shipping to delivery on annual incremental revenues as agreed through combination of transactions originated from European Contractors/Exporters/ECAs/Agencies and execution of European ECA/Agency covered transactions in footprint markets (including inbound to Europe), Americas and Globally for Defence & Cruise Shipping.
• Fee revenue to be at least 75% of the Budget annual revenue. Ensure a robust and sustainable deals pipeline measured through number of PSRs approved and mandates won.
• Oversee robust deal selection, conflict resolution and risk management to ensure the business is consistent with the strategy and risk appetite measured through deals closed and deals on Early Alert.
• Focus on continuous product development to offer new products and structures to our Exporter and Borrower clients.
• Originate / execute the transactions with inbound markets’ DAF colleagues and Coverage bankers
• Maximise the cross sell identifying TB & FM opportunities measured to revenues from Hedging, Trade cross sell and number of deals with SCB as Account Bank.
Processes
• Maintain accurate forecasting and financial oversight of the DAF Continental Europe & Americas origination business
• Make significant contribution to DAF people development and management team meetings
• Ensure Audit procedures are met for DAF portfolio and any audit concerns promptly addressed
• Ensure that good quality review and deal documentation are conducted
People & Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values in own team and also across the wider IDFG team. Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

• Ensure that performance is measured by reference to performance against the targets agreed on the scorecards as well as conduct and risk / control culture.

Risk Management
• Achieve growth in a safe and well-controlled manner on an end-to-end basis – incorporating infrastructure and governance requirements.
• Enforce a culture of risk management, control and governance, and ensure DAF regional team comply with the risk management processes in place.
• Ensure strategic execution of DAF Continental Europe & Americas and global business remains within the agreed Risk Appetite and Underwriting Standards
• Actively monitor the usage and availability of European ECA limits for IDFG business. Engage regional/country Credit to address limit issues.
• Proactively advise and monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and/ or ensure adequate escalation and reporting to the appropriate Operational Risk Committees

• To ensure team compliance with local regulatory bodies and the Bank’s policies as laid down by Group Legal & Compliance
