Job Summary

We’re seeking a driven Team Lead – Credit Analysis to join our high-performing Corporate Coveerage Team.

This is a leadership role, requiring full management of performance, coaching and mentoring. Proven experience in leading a small team of credit analysts is essential, along with the ability to inspire and guide a team in a fast-paced, globally connected environment.

You will play a pivotal role in assessing client creditworthiness, leading credit reviews, and monitoring portfolio risk across dynamic markets and asset classes. Working closely with Account Managers, Relationship Bankers, and Risk teams, you’ll deliver clear, insightful credit analysis that supports strategic decision-making and client engagement. You’ll also contribute to business development by identifying credit opportunities that align with our risk appetite and market positioning.

This role requires strong analytical and financial modelling skills, a deep understanding of credit risk, and solid knowledge of products across Transaction Banking, Markets, and Corporate Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience assessing client risk in light of macroeconomic, industry, and reputational factors, including climate and sustainability considerations. Exposure to regulatory frameworks and guidelines such as those set by the EBA, BaFin and PRA are highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

•    Lead credit reviews, analyse and monitor client credit risk, to ensure creditworthiness. 
•    Provide insightful, succinct and timely client portfolio credit analysis.
•    Accountable for spreading financials, proposing credit grades aligned to scorecards, documenting client risk and mitigants, and monitoring for credit-material events.
•    Partner with Banking, Coverage and Risk teams to develop and execute credit analysis, credit origination and monitoring relevant matters. 
•    Deliver client fraud risk assessments to defined standards, documenting residual risks and mitigants.
•    Credit intelligence to identify business opportunities with an acceptable risk profile by supporting Relationship Managers, FI Bankers and Product teams with product solutioning and recommendations.
•    Provide credit analysis with consideration for market dynamics and client industry, including: 
•    Industry risks and client competitive positioning within the industry.
•    Client funding strategy, financial policies, treasury activities, including hedging, and cash management.
•    Analyse client cash flow and liquidity with ratio analysis and/or stress testing balance sheet strength, cash flow and profitability vulnerability.
•    Reputational risk profile, including climate and sustainability risks.

Skills and Experience

As Team Leader, you will be expected to actively engage with Coverage/GAM and risk approvers on preparation and review of the full credit application package covering limit proposal and all relevant risk types (credit risk, fraud Risk, sanction risk, sustainability / climate risk, transaction risk etc).

 

This also involves ongoing risk monitoring responsibilities. The role requires supporting business teams with origination and business growth.

 

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience gained either in banking, treasury or accounting environment.
  • Experience in structuring and executing deals.
  • Strong analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment
  • Able to hold credible dialogue at all levels of the organisation, as well as with clients
  • Well organized, able to multi-task and balance competing demands
  • Fluent in English and French
