  • We are seeking an experienced Product owner to join our Markets Transformation team, taking ownership of the ISO 20022 programme delivery and expanding scope across cross-product and cross-asset class initiatives, This is a senior role operating within a large-scale, multi-year regulatory and strategic transformation programme.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technology across Markets, translating requirements into a coherent and prioritised product backlog that drives value to the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Define and own the ISO 20022 product vision, articulating how the programme aligns with the firm’s broader market infrastructure and payment strategy.
  • Develop product roadmap spanning cross-asset class initiatives, balancing regulatory deadlines and with business value delivery
  • Champion cross-asset class convergence opportunities, AI adoption, identifying where shared platforms or common data standards can reduce duplication and increase scalability.

 

Business

  • Build and maintain strong relationship with front office , operations , Project managers , technology ,finance , legal, compliance and external counterparts including vendors, SWIFT, CCPs, CSDs
  • Act as the primary business-facing product owner for initiatives, translating requirements and regulatory mandates into a prioritised, delivery-ready backlog
  • Manage competing business priorities across asset classes , applying structured prioritisation framework and working closely with domain specific product owners to drive transparent trade-off decisions.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across FX/MM/Derivatives/Fixed Income/Equities to gather requirements, validate prioritised and communicate progress.

Processes

  • Own the product backlog end-to-end-writing well-scoped user stories with clear acceptance criteria, managing refinement sessions and ensuring backlog is always ready for sprint planning.
  • Co-ordinate end to end testing and UAT cycles across impacted business lines in collaboration with respective product technology and operations team. Ensure test coverage reflects real-world transaction flows in each asset class
  • Lead sprint ceremonies including planning, reviews and retrospectives, act as a primary decision maker for scope and priority within the sprint.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, including facilitating retrospectives and working with scrum master to remove systemic impediments.
  •  Maintain programme-level documentation including product brief’s, decision logs and ensure Operations readiness (DOI updates, training etc) well before production implementation across the programmes.

 

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify, assess and escalate programme risks – including regulatory non-compliance risk, delivery risk , Settlement risk and cross-asset dependency risk.
  • Assess the impact of scope changes, regulatory updates or market events on delivery timelines and risk profile, communicating changes to the programme stake holders promptly.
  • Collaborate with technology, architecture and operations teams to define mitigating controls for technical and operational risks.
  • Define and enforce go/no-go criteria for released and cut-over events, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience are maintained throughout the migration.

 

Governance

  • Represent the product function in programme steering committee , project working groups and relevant regulatory or industry working groups.
  • Ensure adherence to the regulatory obligations and mandated timelines, maintaining traceability between regulatory requirements and delivered product features.
  • Ensure all product decisions and scope changes are subject to appropriate change controls

Our Ideal Candidate

•    Graduate with relevant industry experience in financial markets products/asset classes 
•    5+ years of relevant experience as product owner or in a similar agile product management role , with strong product ownership skills including business analysis , backlog management, sprint planning , user story writing and delivering high-value products/solutions.
•    Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle, settlement, and operational characteristics of the covered asset classes-FX/MM/Derivatives/Fixed Income equities (preferred)
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and adapt quickly.
