Job Summary
As a Product Owner in our cross-functional squads, the candidate will drive the outcomes of the squad to deliver on their objectives and key results. You will build and prioritise the product backlog to achieve business goals and manage stakeholder relationships to align expectations, prioritisation and overall product roadmap.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the digital bancassurance agenda, designing and delivering end-to-end insurance customer journeys across the bank’s digital channels. You will focus on increasing insurance penetration, improving conversion and enabling seamless integration of insurance propositions within the broader wealth and banking ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• The primary purpose of this position is to develop and transform Capital Markets Products & Solutions (CMPS) product capability to provide digital channels for both clients and internal users across Private Banking and Retail Banking.
• The Bank is aiming to grow product capability through digital and self-direct channels. This Product Owner (PO) role is to drive the agile technology projects to establish a robust price discovery and execution platform. It is also required to build system interface with upstream systems (e.g. client information check) and downstream systems (e.g. booking trades into core banking platforms) to streamline operation flow and improve users (including clients) experience and frontline productivity.
• As PO, you will develop and maintain a vision for agile technology projects and be responsible for communicating the vision to the scrum team. Be responsible for agile technology projects and features from concept to final implementation. In particular,
• have a good understanding of wealth management products, it's processes and relevance to clients.
• Define and own the strategic digital product vision and roadmap for the wealth management product suite.
• Align product strategy with business goals, market trends, and client needs.
• Develop a competitive product strategy across relevant asset classes (such as FX, equities, fixed income, structured products, OTC derivatives, funds, and insurance.)
• Monitor market dynamics and regulatory changes, ensuring products remain competitive and compliant.
• As PO you will work with architects, business stakeholders and development teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met with each release. Be responsible for the design, usability, quality and delivery of agile technology projects and features.
• As the subject matter expert, this role is to determine business requirements, review technology project plans from the business perspective, and ensure new technology capabilities are embedded in business processes to deliver benefits. Ensure smooth execution on the ground, and communicate the changes delivered to relevant stakeholders including front office.
Business
• Review and understand key business policies and processes in Bancassurance and Wealth Management across both private banking and retail segments
• Identify critical pain points in insurance distribution and customer journeys, and articulate how digital initiatives will improve penetration, conversion and customer experience
• Drive key performance outcomes including insurance penetration, sales conversion, digital adoption and revenue contribution
• Partner with distribution teams including Relationship Managers, Insurance Advisors, contact centre and digital sales teams to maximise business impact
Processes
• The PO is the key decision maker on priorities and design decisions, ensuring alignment across stakeholders throughout the agile development lifecycle
• Own end-to-end customer journeys across discovery, recommendation, purchase and servicing for insurance products
• Represent the end user by balancing business needs, customer experience and engineering considerations
• Provide business input on requirements and work with product teams, front office and operations to design simplified, frictionless journeys (e.g. pre-filled data, straight-through processing, reduced manual steps)
• Review technology plans and design specifications to ensure business requirements are met and benefits realised
• Identify process and control implications within the Bank’s operational risk framework, ensuring robust controls are embedded
• Work with project teams to develop test plans and coordinate user testing for new journeys and features
• Ensure successful go-live from a business perspective, including training, communication and post-launch feedback
• Track benefits realisation and continuously improve based on customer and business feedback
Digital, Ecosystem and AI
• Support integration of insurance products within broader banking, wealth and lifestyle ecosystems
• Work with insurance partners to digitise product offerings and improve customer experience through API-based integrations
• Leverage data and AI capabilities to enable:
- Personalised product recommendations
- Next-best-action nudges
- Lead prioritisation and conversion optimisation
• Explore opportunities in health, wellness and ecosystem partnerships to enhance insurance propositions

• Work towards strengthening the performance culture and reinforcement of accountabilities in products
• Share technical and domain expertise with team members and contribute to capability building across the squad
Risk Management
• Embed a risk culture that supports the Bank’s strategy and philosophy for the management of risk
• Ensure all insurance journeys comply with regulatory and conduct requirements, including suitability and disclosure standards
• Ensure effective arrangements are in place for the prevention of financial crime in line with Group policies and regulatory guidelines

• Experience in digital product management, preferably within banking or financial services

• Experience working in agile delivery environments
• Good understanding of insurance distribution, customer journeys and sales funnels
• Strong awareness of regulatory and operational considerations in financial services
• Preferred: Exposure to data-driven or AI-enabled product use cases
Qualifications
• Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in banking, insurance or financial services
• Good understanding of insurance products (life, general insurance, health) and wealth solutions
• Relevant knowledge of regulatory and operational frameworks
• Preferred: Exposure to regional markets and digital bancassurance models
