Part of CIB’s Digital Channels & Data Analytics (DCDA), we are building a complete end-to-end, digital-first client journey from onboarding, transacting to servicing and reporting.  We are passionate about developing and delivering Best in Class digital client experience through consistent, well designed, contextual user journeys across all our client touchpoints such as the H2H, API, Web and Mobile. 

The Product Owner (CPO) of Standard Chartered Corporate Banking S2B Access is a role in the Digital Channel and Data analytics (“DCDA”) team within Standard Chartered’s Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (“CIB”) client segment.  The S2B Access platform serves our global clients across our 40+ footprint markets. As the PO of S2B Access platform within Non-Interactive channels, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy and roadmap in collaboration and alignment with CIB businesses, execute on it through disciplined product development from Strategy to Go-to-market activities, be laser-focussed on delivery and time-to-speed. You will be working with a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver value driven digital capabilities for our corporate and institutional clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
Product Ownership & Strategy
•    Define and execute the strategic Product initiatives as the S2B Access Product Owner for Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional banking (CIB) to enable industry leading Straight2Bank (S2B) experience for our institutional clients, across our footprint positioning Standard Chartered as a leader in this space. Working with both a strategic and a tactical focus, the suitable candidate will be responsible for delivery of a significant investment in enhancing our clients’ digital experience.
•    Serve as the product owner of the S2B Access Business IC squads to deliver Channel features required as per Client, Regulatory and Business prioritised requirements.
•    Develop and own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for H2H and SWIFT channels (incl. impacted CCS functionalities) from onboarding, Transacting and post transaction (servicing) experiences by collaborating with respective Channels and Core Product teams to deliver the best in class and future proof experiences for Corporate clients.
•    Review legacy and inactive digital service capabilities to define, develop and execute on offboarding campaign plans, working closely with DCS Cluster Leads and Cross functional stakeholders ensuring clear communication. Operational readiness, smooth transition, and decommissioning of services.
•    Use data from usage analytics, customer feedback and performance metrics to drive product decisions, optimize digital journeys and define OKRs.

Business
The role requires close partnership with Transaction Banking and Financial Markets businesses to gain in-depth understanding of the business strategies and objectives to develop and align the roadmap and priorities with business goals to meet client needs. Understanding of Cash Products and Commercial and Wholesale Payments business domain and technical integration through Host to Host channels is critical. 

Processes
Roadmap/Backlog Planning: Own (develop and maintain) the product roadmap, prioritizing features, ensuring alignment with business goals and client needs and ensure all the product releases are managed as per the expectations. Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from Inception to Build and Test, Deployment Activities (Pre-and-Post) and go-live (post go-live issue resolution, if any, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements. (i) Product owner must prioritize the Stories to ensure that all the details are well covered, and impacts assessed. (ii) Design & Architecture - PO reviews and approve Chapter 1 of Solution Intent before it goes for Domain/Country Architect approval and reviews mapping specification documents with business stakeholders and gets sign off (iii) Test Strategy - PO and Technology Service Owner validates and approves the test strategy. (iv) Approved Requirement (NFR) - PO validates and approves Non Functional requirements. Approved Requirement (Functional) - PO validates and approves scope of work with clear business outcome and acceptance criteria. (v) Bug and stories - PO should prioritize bugs and stories into development stage indicating the approval. (vi) Functional Testing - PO along with Technology Service Owner verifies Test Summary Report and provides signoff in the Release pipeline before the release deployed into production. Traceability and Test Evidence are being generated automatically in the ADO. (vii) Pre- Deployment Verification - Make sure all the controls are met prior to deployment (to production) or exceptions explicitly Approved by PO. (viii) Post Deployment Verification (User Verification Test) - To ensure deployment is successfully completed in the production environment. (ix) At release level POs are expected to validate the adequacy of the testing, exceptions to the compliance if any before finally approving the release for production. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage data and client insights from GA, CSAT to make informed decisions, optimize product features, and drive continuous improvement. Work alongside Data team in ensuring provision of management information, metrics and useful insights for S2B Access. Budget Management: Manage the product budget effectively, making strategic investment decisions to maximize ROTE 

People & Talent 
Provide effective leadership and management of the squad to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential. Lead and inspire a cross-functional team, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to deliver high-quality features and enhancements. Ensure active communication of the vision, priorities and progress to the business to foster engagement, awareness and motivation. 

Stakeholder Management
•    Communicate product vision, roadmap, and priorities clearly and consistently to all stakeholders.
•    Manage stakeholder expectations by providing transparency on scope and timelines. Communicate issues, risks, and dependencies impacting outcomes clearly to leadership.
•    Facilitate decision making and trade-offs, ensuring timely approvals and alignment on delivery plans.
•    Work with DCS Cluster Lead to ensure local need are represented without fragmenting the core Channel capability experience.

Risk Management
•    Review applicable internal policies and procedures to prevent gaps against risk governance framework. Identify and mitigate risks related to product development, compliance, legal, and security teams. To have strong engagement and liaison with these teams to drive the regulatory approvals required to ensure S2B Access channel remains compliant with banking and data protection laws. Ensure Country compliance on Group standard for Audit and Control. To be the product SPOC with the local risk committees. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. 

•    Be accountable for ensuring the channel capabilities comply with SCB’s governance frameworks (legal, risk, compliance etc) and satisfy local Regulator requirements.
•    Manage ICS, Data Quality and CFCC risks proactively and effectively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

 

  • 10 plus years’ experience in transaction banking or digital roles within financial or transaction-oriented sectors.
  • Demonstrable project, product management, and/or implementation experience in Digital Channels and/or Cash Management, with understanding of ISO20022 capabilities.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans within matrix organisations.
  • Competency in market analysis, sales and revenue forecasting, project planning and management, promotion development, and product strategy execution.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to create and deliver compelling oral and written presentations/proposals to senior management.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with proven ability to manage and inspire teams.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
  • Comprehensive, solution-oriented approach when engaging with clients, team members, and management.
  • Ability to manage and motivate matrix resources to achieve organisational objectives and influence without direct authority.
