Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Contribute to and support the Bank’s and Department’s vision, business model, strategies, and growth plans.

Business

  • Support Affluent Distribution, Business Banking, and Personal Banking in driving insurance sales by providing solutions that meet client’s needs.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and other key metrics as outlined in the scorecard.
  • Conduct needs-based selling by assessing clients’ financial goals and recommending suitable insurance solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Insurance Service Providers (ISP) to ensure seamless execution of sales and services activities.
  • Assist in handling client inquiries and resolving issues related to insurance products.

Processes

  • Adhere to Wealth Solution policies and procedures governing insurance transactions.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all sales transactions in compliance with internal guideline and regulatory requirements.

Risk Management

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with internal policies and external regulations to minimize legal and regulatory risks.
  • Offer insurance products that align with client’s financial situations and objectives to mitigate the risk of Misselling.
  • Maintain awareness of potential risks in the sales process and escalate any identified concerns to the relevant team.

Governance

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework within which the Bank operates.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Fulfil industry licensing requirements and maintain valid certifications for the products sold.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Malaysia/ Wealth Solutions/ Bancassurance.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
