Title: Portfolio Manager, Card and Lending

Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Performance Management: Monitor, track, and analyze the financial performance of the credit cards and lending portfolio against established budgets and forecasts. Identify variances and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Driver Analysis & Modeling: Develop robust models that link key business drivers (e.g., activity, authorization rates, utilization, default rates, acquisition costs) to financial outcomes (e.g., Net Interest Income, Fee Income).
- Optimization Initiatives: Own and drive strategic initiatives focused on enhancing portfolio profitability and efficiency, including:
- Authorization Rate Optimization: Analyze transaction data to improve authorization success rates while effectively managing fraud risk.
- Scheme Cost Rationalization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs associated with card schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard fees) through strategic negotiation or operational changes.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with product and technology teams to ensure the technical setup and configuration of cards and lending products is efficient, scalable, and operationally sound.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize strong analytical skills and tools to transform raw data into clear, compelling narratives and reports for executive leadership.
- Problem Solving: Tackle complex, unstructured business problems with a high degree of ambiguity, using a combination of analytical rigor, business acumen, and creativity.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Risk, Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to implement changes, drive performance, and ensure alignment across the organization.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field with 5+ years of portfolio management, financial analysis, product management, or a similar role within the credit card or lending industry in Hong Kong.
- Deep, technical understanding of the credit cards and lending business lifecycle, including product setup, transaction processing, risk management, and profitability drivers.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of segmentation and propensity / risk models
- Technical Proficiency:
- PowerPoint: High proficiency in creating clear, impactful presentations for senior leadership.
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools, specifically Tableau.
- Analytical Tools: Proficiency with Excel and other relevant data analysis tools (e.g., SQL experience is a plus).
- A proven track record of solving unstructured problems and driving initiatives from insight to implementation.
- Strong written and verbal communications in both Chinese and English
