Title: Assistant Manager, Trade Operations

Short Description
As an Assistant Manager, Trade Operations, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality trade services to our clients while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations. You will oversee the end-to-end processing of trade finance transactions—including letters of credit, collections, guarantees, and supply chain finance products—across a broad spectrum of domestic and international markets.
This role requires a meticulous and analytical individual who can manage operational risk, drive service excellence, and ensure process accuracy within tight timelines. You will be expected to support the implementation of operational best practices, contribute to performance improvement initiatives, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex trade-related issues. Additionally, you will assist in monitoring transaction volumes, identifying trends, and reporting key operational metrics to support business decision-making.
As part of a forward-looking operations team, you will also play a role in shaping the future of trade services by supporting digital transformation initiatives, automation projects, and continuous process improvement. Your ability to maintain high service standards while adapting to regulatory, technological, and client-driven change will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Process trade finance transactions such as letters of credit, collections, guarantees, and trade loans in accordance with internal and external regulations.
- Ensure transactions are processed within agreed turnaround times and service level agreements.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and digitisation initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all operational risk and compliance policies, including AML and sanctions guidelines.
- Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and correspondent banks to resolve trade-related queries.
- Maintain proper documentation and accurate records in line with audit and compliance standards.
- Verify and authorise all trade services transactions of the team, within delegated authorities (wherever applicable)
- Verify contents of a transaction to ensure that neither customer nor Bank is placed at risk.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Customer Service Group and Customers for enquiries / problem resolution.
- Monitor and report to Senior Manager, Trade Services all irregular items with a view to take corrective action for timely liquidation of such items.
- Comply with internal operating procedures as per Procedures Manual and other Group Policy standards.
Skills and Experience
- Client Service experience
- General Banking knowledge
- Computer / Microsoft Office Skills
- Arabic & English Oral & Written skills.
- Soft knowledge of SAMA regulations.
