Job Summary

The Assistant Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role within the Global Account Management (GAM) team, providing dedicated support to manage and grow an aligned portfolio of clients. This position is essential for driving revenue growth, enhancing client satisfaction, and ensuring seamless execution of client delivery across various products and services. You will be instrumental in supporting the GAM through client engagement, rigorous account management, and coordination with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic business objectives.

In this role, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of client profiles including their operational structures, cash flow positions, lending requirements, and usage of banking products. By fostering strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers at multiple organizational levels, you will help deepen these engagements and identify new business opportunities.

  • Provide comprehensive support to the GAM on revenue-related activities, including client profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and business flow identification to maximise limit utilisation and allocation.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of critical client-facing materials such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Global Customer and Risk Assessments (GCAF and RCAF), and detailed account plans.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to develop compelling client presentations, pitch books, and market insight reports that drive engagement and support client decision-making processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients by sharing pertinent market trends and insights relevant to their industries and geographical footprint, thereby positioning the bank as a trusted adviser.
  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance standards including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and credit risk policies while facilitating smooth deal executions.
  • Support initiatives aimed at optimising Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) efficiency and contribute to process improvement within the relationship management function.

Risk Management

•    Support the RM in reviewing client account activity reviews, ensuring transactional activities are aligned to the expected levels of activity for the client given their business profile
•    Ensure deeper understanding on credit risk including default risk and fraud risk
•    Ensure data quality of all AML and Credit documents/files meets CCIB standards to facilitate RM's decisions on risk acceptance
•    Proactively identify gaps in the process that could present an operational risk and share process improvement ideas. Proactively lead key projects aimed at improving processes, tools and the client experience.
•    Ensure adherence to all internal/regulatory policies & regulations e.g. Policies and procedures in RiskPod (FATCA, Credit, BCA overdue, etc)
•    Support audit related exercises

Skills and Experience

 

  • Relevant experience within banking or a comparable professional environment, ideally with exposure to global account or corporate relationship management.
  • Knowledge and practical exposure to correspondent banking operations.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic languages is required, enabling effective communication with diverse client bases and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self driven indvidual with passion to learn.
  • Stakeholder management 
  • Banking, Financial institution or Fintech background is preferred.

 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Banking or Finance preferred
•    Languages: English and Arabic skills are required.
